This is probably a must win for both sides really. We've had far too many draws and have thrown away far too many winning positions and if we're going to make a run at the play offs we're running out of time to start the run. We're at home to the bottom side and really should be winning this, there will be big pressure on Rowett if we don't.

While Ipswich need to win this simply because they're so far adrift that they have to find a win somewhere if they're going to have a hope. And they're going to have to win a few unexpected games too like this one.

It's the return of Paul Lambert who should get a warm welcome. He tried his best last season but ultimately he's a bit too limited for the Premier League and he also wasn't helped by Hughes getting sacked too late which didn't leave him enough time to turn it around or enough of January to sign the players we desperately needed.

Prediction 1-1 another disappointing draw that does nothing for either side.

I'm going to surprise you and say 2-1 to Ipswich...

My basis for this is purely the laws of averages! Seriously, just got a hunch on this.

It wouldn't surprise me. We have a soft underbelly and a tendency for shooting ourselves in the foot. Lambert will be fired up and will fire his players up. And our crowd will be highly expectant and will get restless and edgy if we don't get an early goal. There's an undercurrent of discontent and it won't take much for that to come through against the manager and certain unpopular players if we're perceived to be playing too negatively.

You should be safe, we don't have the tendency to shoot at all. How many own goals do you think you can give us?

We will **** you up ;) Seriously I agree with you mate - wouldn’t be surprised at all if you won

If we do lose then I think our board will have to have a think about what to do. We chucked 2 points away on Saturday against a poor Reading side (no disrespect) so lose to the club who are rock bottom and you have to question the manager. The chairman said earlier in the season that finishing outside the top 6 would be failure. Well Pete, get ready because that is what is going to happen, especially if we do lose.

You watch, now me and Sam have been a pair of negative buggers we will win 5-0 :laugh:

Really had Stoke down as favourites to finish in the top two. As early as August when we beat them 3-1 Shawcross was saying things have to improve. Teams need to adjust to life in the Championship, it's totally different to the Premiership. Clubs coming down get a real culture shock. As for Ipswich never saw their plight coming either, at this stage of the season to be 7 points adrift is a lot.

You’ll score at least. If you don’t look like scoring then we’ll do it for you anyway. We’re generous that way.

Optimistic head on, I’ll say 2-1 Stoke.

Skuse out injured, done his knee in training. Could be a while, club not saying yet. Probably the worst team news we could have, on top of everything else. Only kids left to replace him in that defensive role.

    Bugger.

Ouch. He was your best player by about 503 country miles when you played us.

Unfortunately he’s the only one in our midfield currently who has a vague idea as to what they’re supposed to be doing. Otherwise it’s a bunch of kids. Game has greatly improved since Lambert arrived as well.

For some weird sado masochistic reason I'm looking forward to this match, it's been a while since we played Ipswich. I'm sure I won't feel the same at 5pm.
