Was literally about to post this.

Forget about a Scottish manager. How many are actually doing that well anyway?

    Appoint an experienced foreign coach.

Has the Scottish FA ever approached Ferguson for an advisory role?

Ferguson is an old man who should be allowed to enjoy his retirement.

I'm not surprised. I think the media and fans had started to turn on the backs of the shambolic second half in Slovenia.

Don't know if he said enough was enough himself or not but whatever anyone thinks of Strachan he is a man of principle.

This is a guy who walked away from a contract at Middlesbrough stating he did not want the cash he was due as he hadn't made a success of the job.

As has been shown with Brendan Rodgers the next appointment is crucial. They need to break the bank and get a guy in who has experience at the top level and has a history of getting the best out of young players. There is a very good base of a team there to work with.

Don't want to be the bearer of bad news but betting has been suspended on Moyes being the new coach. I know bookies odds are irrelevant but suspending the betting is a different although still nothing cast in stone.

Regan, Petrie and all the rest of the corrupt cabal should have ben chased long before Strachan.

The man is a walking disaster, WTF would the SFA even consider giving him the job?

One of the first guys the SFA should be attempting to get is Michael O'Neill. Someone who the majority of fans I think would be in favour with.

Moyes would not go down well at all.

    Would be a great choice.

In fact, you should do everything to get him.

Why would Lagerback or O'Neill go manage Scotland? It's a more potent poisoned chalice than the England job, and that's saying something.

Not a wind-up, it's a serious question. Their stock has seriously risen having qualified for back to back international tournaments, whereas yours has.. well.. not budged?

Scotland now have the basis of a good team there and will go from strength to strength if the correct manager is brought in.

Northern Ireland and Iceland have the basis of good teams too.
