Right, so like last year I'll do an in-depth transfer review, along with speculated comings and goings and giving my view on new signings. :thumb

First we kick off with Cristian Riveros, a Paraguayan international who's heading to the World Cup this summer signed as a winger from Mexican side Cruz Azul, though it is to my understanding that he's able to play right the way across midfield so, if true, his versatility could be absolutely vital for us next season. According to Brucey he was quoted £12m when trying to sign this fella before, so he should have something about him. Getting him on a free could prove to be excellent business!

:( Shame it looks like Hutton deal is close to collapsing, although it was to be expected that fat arry and levi would piss us about.

Wish Brucie would sign them 2 Egyptian lads Gedo & Mohamedi

I wouldn't mind us signing Tuncay like we are being linked with. Not had best time at Stoke but always thought he was canny at Boro, hard working & would offer us something different.

:( Step back if we sell Jones though which I have a feeling Brucie will do

I'm still very confident Hutton will be ours. Spurs just trying to get as much for him as possible.

SUNDERLAND AFC........Why on earth is there room for two teams?
More likely mean a lesser role for Steed mate. Tuncay would play as a wide AM. Arguably his best position.
Hutton hopefully will come on a Bent esque deal or payments connected with performance.

I'd take Tuncay for Jones... if something like this were to happen, I have a feeling it'd be in Sunderlands favour though (Tuncay + Fee for Jones)?

I dont see Tuncay as the next step really to be honest, and I certainly dont see getting shot of Jones as the next step.

This is still a debatable subject. I think Bruce will have the final say if he stays or goes. I was quite obvious at times last season that Bruce and Jones didnt see eye to eye.

It would be typical if Jones did leave and played a blinder every game.

I don't really see why Jones would want to go to Stoke in all honesty.

I don't want to see him leave but he seems like an ambitious character and if he does go it almost certainly won't be to a team on a similar standing as us.

Apparently Brue is after Argentinian right-back Marcos Angeleri with a £2million bid.

Unless you're ready to offer him astronomical wages I see more chance of me playing for Stoke than Kenwyne. He signed a new 4-year deal 18 months ago and is presumably one of our top earners, so that plus the £10m + Tuncay you'd probably have to pay for his services means this is just a non-starter in my opinion.

Well he's played for us before you know ;) Don't completely rule it out Dan... but its a long shot. Apparently we're interested in Heskey too.

Oops, completely forgot about that. :slap:

But like you say it's still a long shot. I hope he doesn't go but I don't think Bruce actually fancies him all that much so a move away might be good for Jones.

I've updated our list. Apparently Angeleri is due to sign in the next week or so for a fee believed to be around £1.9m. Sounds a good price for an established Argentine international (though he didn't go to the World Cup).

Sunderland's first signing will be a new nose for Steve Bruce looking something like this.

New signing confirmed, with Belgian U-21 international Simon Mignolet penning a 5-year-deal  Very promising goalkeeper apparently and I'm excited to see what he's got to give. I think he'll definitely be #2 though as I can see Carson leaving on loan again with Fulop departing on a permanent deal. Marcos Angeleri is on the verge of signing too apparently. Onwards and upwards! :D

EDIT: We've also been linked with Borussia Dortmund's Nelson Valdez in the Daily Mirror. A tall, athletic Paraguayan front man who's currently ahead of Oscar Cardozo and Roque Santa Cruz in the international pecking order for a starting berth. I'd rather us bid for his club and international strike partner Lucas Barrios. He looks very, very promising. Regardless I don't think there's any truth in the rumour really. He's never set the world alight with his goals I don't think, and for a quoted £8m I can't see us splashing out that on what will be essentially a 3rd choice striker. Rather easy for the press to link us with more Paraguayan's though given the 2 we currently have.

You've beat us to the loan signing off Ahmed Al-Muhammadi according to the daily mail, mash head Bruce always seems to do us over in the transfer market, did it for Brum, Wigan and now you lot

We've been heavily linked with Fulop in our local paper in the past couple of weeks on a free transfer but there are a couple of foreign teams + Ipswich in for him. Any good ?
