Yeah I saw large parts of the first set, and it was high-level stuff. Andy just can't do much more without becoming physically fitter, which is such an ask. Unfortunately, he seems to have hit his ceiling in that regard. Maybe a big training block at the end of the year could push him on a level, but tough to expect too much at this point. I suppose it's more recovery than fitness. Gets through these tough matches but then struggles for the gas to get through the following match. Good to see Emma get off the mark on the WTA tour. Can guarantee if she'd lost first match again, it would've become one of those annoying media narratives. Could do without that pressure, although she obviously she handled it so well in NY.
