But it's worth a try, saw this and thought I would post it up. Sorry for the repeat post on the other forums, didn't know where best to put it....

I think there could be one stand where you can stand but they should still keep seeting for those who want it

Does the standard of the toilets really bother you when you're going to a football match?

I think you have misunderstood. This petition is to show that thousands of football fans across the country want the option to have designated standing areas at football grounds.

It is nothing to do with toilets, pies, rooves or hooligans :rolleyes

Yes please! Get rid off the sandwiches and the whole family bollocks as well. You can f*ck Sky and the like off 'n all, except for Soccer Saturday. Sounds class.

No you are missing my point 'It took HEYSEL,BRADFORD AND HILLSBORO' ,TO FIX THE FACT THAT WE WERE NOT SAFE IN A FOOTBALL GROUND .tHE FACILITIES WERE SHYTE .THE AVERAGE FAN WAS NOT DRY OR COMFORTABLE.I HAD MANY INCIDENTS WHERE I HAD NEARLY BEEN CRUSHED TO DEATH. OR INJURED BY BROKEN TERRACE STEELWORK .OLD TRAFFORD,PARKHEAD,FILBERT STREET AND St, ANDREWS TO NAME A FEW.We now have the best grounds in the world with good facilities and we are safe.Lets not go backwards because the singing was better.

WON'T MAKE LIVERPOOL WHAT THEY WERE THEN THOUGH.:whistle

    Again, you've missed the point.

Nobody is campaigning to bring back dangerous, wet, unpleasant grounds.

The petition is to show that thousands of football fans want the CHOICE of havning SAFE STANDING areas at football grounds.

This doesn't mean bringing back hooligans; it doesn't mean making the toilets worse, it doesn't mean getting rid of facililities, it doesn't mean ignoring health and safety issues.

    You must understand, right? :thumb

    .
That was down to the standard of the terracing, standing section if done correctly can be safe as proved throughout Europe.

I believe everyone who died in the Bradford fire were in the seating section, perhaps we should ban seats as well? Hopping sections only?

AJB and Never Alone ..... hang your heads in shame .

A Forest and a Liverpool fan advocating the return of terraces , it would be funny if it wasn't so damn tragic .

Next Liverpool home game why don't the 2 of you go and stand by the Hillsborough Memorial and voice your opinions . I'd be interested to see the reaction you get .

Don't speak to me like that. Please.

The petition is for clubs to have the choice of SAFE STANDING areas.

It is not a petition for DANGEROUS AND OVERCROWDED standing areas. That's the difference.

We all know what happened at Hillsborough. It was a disgusting tragedy.

BUT, the fence at the front caused a lot of the problems that day. So did the mis-management of health & safety issues.

Read this post again, and you'll realise how silly you have been:

The petition is for clubs to have the choice of SAFE STANDING areas.

Not for DANGEROUS AND OVERCROWDED standing areas. That's the difference.

Was not impressed with the grounds in Germany in the world cup .Sorry.

The Bradford Fire was used as an axample of low safety standards ,not terracing .The point being the safety of the spectator is paramount .Which ever way you paint it Seats are safer than terracing .

Why be sorry? Its your opinion, and you are entitled to it chap.

Debate is all fine and well, I don't expect everyone to have the same view on this.

    .
Hillsborough was caused by bad policing/stewarding and a ground that had a safety certificate that expired about 10 years previously.

I t's just that people have rose tinted glasses on when it comes to terracing .They remember great nights with great atmospheres.I still recall my feet not touching the ground at Old Trafford and tryimg to to keep a 60 year old man from harm for ten minutes whilst police decided whether they should open another section .There is no such thing as safe standing .Once that tribal instinct kicks in .I never want to see certain scenes in this country again ,if that means no terraces it's a small price to pay for a life of a child.

Desn't alter the fact if it were a seated stand it would not have happened .
