Torres now has arguably got some of the best players to deliver the ball to him. Whether it'd be Hazard, Lampard, Mata, Oscar or Ramires. I still expect him to score more goals though.

Machida had already said so no need to repeat it ...

Adam Johnson i'd love ... Walcott i wouldn't. Hopefully we get Johnson but there seems a lot of offers for a loan for him.

Thing is, wasn't he pretty much certain going to Liverpool about a week ago? All betting was suspended!

I think all three of us are still chasing him, though you certainly seem favourites now.

So we're 'taking a liberty' in offering only £12m for Andy Carroll? Er we took that liberty in the £35m deal Brendan :thumb

He's coming across as a bit of a f***wit this Rodgers character.

They obviously want rid of Carroll but (as is LFCs right) they want as much as they can get - but they have shown too much of their hand to get a premium.

We have c £12m budgeted for a striker (we lost out on Luuk De Jong) and if that is not acceptable then tough. We go with what we have and LFC have to keep a player they have seemingly made unhappy.

I would very much doubt unless he starts playing regularly again for LFC whether they would get more than £12m in the future.

What I suspect is annoying LFC and Rodgers more is Carrolls seeming insistance on only wanting to sign for us which again is up to him and LFC do not have the right to bundle him off to West Ham or anywhere else.

They have a choice, either accept an incomming £12m bid or keep a player on £80+k a week and accept the same or less in the future.

I don't like Ashley, I think he is a crude money drivin individual with little sentiment towards our club or the game in general but he has played an absolute blinder here.

What do they expect for him really though? He has hardly played, not been in great form and looks like he isn't going to get much game time.

If they don't want him they may as well cut their losses and sell.

Really? When did he insist upon that?

Stop pretending you have the upper hand. Rodgers has told you to get stuffed.

Rodgers, with his latest comments, is giving us all some true entertainment.

He's admitted he's got a strict budget, can't compete with the top clubs anymore, and is unhappy with little old us for giving your unwanted and unhappy player a way out.

See if a bigger bid comes in and Andy Carroll is willing to leave for anywhere but back home.

Weren't you two pretending that you had the upper hand last month too and that Carroll was as good as yours? How that turn out again?

I've no idea what will happen. Were not desperate for a striker, but he'd score goals.

We do have the upper hand. You are deluded if you think LFC do. We will walk away if you lot start being unrealistic with a value. If Rodgers really wants to tell us to get stuffed he would put an end to this and back Andy to stay instead of trying to get more money for him. Carroll has made it clear where he wants to go when he knocked back West Ham. Its simple really accept our valuation or keep Andy Carroll, he is unlikely to elsewhere. Rodgers can whinge all he likes about how much you paid for him but as you lot have said since the transfer it was on the back of a 50 mil Torres deal so has no bearing.

So deluded. You were saying the same shit a month ago, yet you're still no closer to landing him. Carroll is going nowhere unless you pay up. That's what I'd call having the upper hand, not inventing stories to suit your own fantasies.
