Love it  I think most of us have a person we wish we had never met. But I do believe that everything happens for a reason and no meeting is by chance.

If someone hadn't taken a nose full to counteract the effects of his prodigious boozing this ridiculous thread wouldn't have been made.

A small change in initial conditions can have major implications on a system.

This saying winds me up. I see why people say it but break it down. Does someone being born with a deformity happen for a reason? Does a serial killer happen for a reason?

Everything is chance, nothing is determined.

Yes. Genes, complications with the pregnancy and/or bad health choices by the carrier.

Yes. A life event that alters a person and/or some psychological problem from birth and or genes.

    Literally a reason behind everything.

Well its not chance is it.

Serial killers will likely be through nurture and the environment they came up in and mental health.

You've missed the point. Saying "everything happens for a reason" implies it was meant to happen. Why was it meant to happen? There isnt a why, it just does.

    Jokes mate x

I’m sorry it winds you up but it’s what I believe that all things happen for a reason. I believe nothing is by chance, everything comes from a choice of some kind. I’m not sure why someone holding a different opinion or choosing a different outlook would wind you up.

Its the saying itself, not someone holding the belief. People can believe what they like obviously, doesnt mean it cant be questioned.

I never said it couldn’t be questioned just that I wasn’t sure why it would wind you up.

Maybe because it stems from the belief of a higher power, or something has already determined the outcome of the future. My aunt uses the term and she's atheist, which makes no sense.

I see what you did there :)

Maybe a lot of people believe it in a religious way, like God’s will etc but I don’t think it definitely has to be perceived that way, I certainly don’t believe it for a religious reason. I just believe that there is an explanation/cause as to why things happen, even bad things.
