Starts tonight with Birmingham City, winners of the competition just eight years ago, travelling to some small club on the south coast of England for the first game of the opening round.

Wholesale changes from the teams that play in the league matches is the norm in the cup but I think Blues will put out a strong side to give the new additions to the team an early chance to gel.

I can see us winning 8-0..

“I think it's safe to say the visitors decided that Saturday's game at home to Bristol City is more important than this one..”

I wouldn’t say we’ve picked the kids tonight but Jude Bellingham, who hasn’t even grown his second set of teeth yet, has become City's youngest ever player..

Bellingham played really well in the first half for you lot from what a few of us said at the game.

Easy win from us though tbf.

One of those games where I could have done with a half time beer, but they weren't selling any at the ground.

A cup run would have been nice, but at least i've ticked off Fratton Park. Proper ground with character.

Accrington v Sunderland tomorrow night, will have a proper look at it tonight but expecting us to make a few changes, probably something like:

    Burge
    O’Nien, Ozturk, Baldwin, Hume
    Power, Leadbitter
    Kimpioka, Embleton, Maguire
    Grigg

    Probably gonna be 1-1. Again.

Bradford tonight, the initial allocation has sold out which is about 800+ so hopefully we can sneak over a 1,000 with pay on the day.

No idea on the team, i'd probably change the entire eleven.

Would be nice to see Andre Green and Tom Bayliss get a full 90 minutes, hopefully Connor Ripley can have a solid game too.

Heading down the Smoke for a final chance to experience Griffin Park. Rarely venture that way these days apart from for football. We can enjoy London prices for beer anyway in many of Cambridge's drinking holes.

It's quite pleasant to be looking forward to a competitive evening match against decent opposition at a proper venue and with no real worries about the result. It's become an August highlight since we came up from the Conference - decent games and nights out at Birmingham, Rotherham, Bristol and home win against Wednesday - with last season's traditional loss to Newport the only blot and I missed that for a trip to Bolivia anyway.

We'll be playing at least 5 or 6 currently second choice players from the squad, without losing much quality as some are much of a muchness, and looking to find a goal scoring touch somewhere whilst not getting rolled over.

Fleetwood travel to the CG tonight. I'd expect Sabri to make wholesale changes to give some of our new faces some game time. Really not arsed about the result though

Ball 10 for us tonight please, away. There's literally no other game i want than the Skates at Fratton (preferably without the bubble).

Mind you as @Kirby well knows it'll be us vs Palace, a-f*cking-gain.

Salford at 21/4 seems like a decent price bearing in mind we'll be making quite a lot of changes and i'd guess they won't.

Fleetwood and Lincoln may potentially have value tonight, both over 4/1 but a lot depends on starting Xis
