I genuinely think this country needs to change the way it reports deaths, as it's being reported on daily almost as if it's a competition. It might be a bit on the nose for some, but I think releasing the name and age of victims like we did in the First World War, rather than making them a statistic reporters callously talk about in trivial fashion is the way to go.

People eventually get detached from seeing figures and graphs on a screen and lose sight of what they represent or mean, but seeing "Joseph Bloggs, Aged 62" etc. might help impose the seriousness of the situation on some ****s who still don't get it. Make them people rather than cold hard numbers to be obsessed over, it's the least they deserve.

He’s donated 10k of his own money? Cos if it’s the expenses money that’d amount to fraud I’d imagine!

The wet markets in Wuhan come to life again

Also noticed Italy had a rise in infections and deaths yesterday compared to the previous days where it was on the decline.

I can see the DM headlines now. Commie Corbyn Commits Fraud, as they gloss over all the MPs who buy their secretary wife a high end gaming PC, and a new home office to put it in, replacing the one they did up at our expense 5 years ago.

It would be fraud if he gave the £10k to the NHS, and it would be wrong. However, what should be asked if one MP can get by without £10k in expenses, why cant the other 649 MPs do the same? And also isnt it wrong that the NHS is now deemed a charity, mainly because its been under funded for the last decade? Those are the real frauds. We shouldn't be begging China, Germany and the US for ventilators.

The story might not be true, but to be fair to Corbyn, he's never took the mick with expenses, and has historically been a low claimer.

Stanley Johnson has been the one ignoring government advice, and Boris contracting the virus has served to make him realise that it's a serious event. There was plenty of people in the country bright enough to be aware of it when it was merely killing thousands of other citizens.

    Best wishes to you @saint_clark

Reports from South Korea that as many as 91 (according to the latest BBC update) patients who were believed cured have become reinfected. There are questions though over whether or not these are relapses, so patients who were thought to be over it but weren't or were subjected to faulty testing.

South Korea reported that 51 coronavirus patients' infections went away then 'reactivated' But it's unlikely the virus has a dormancy period.

At the very least it proves an additional challenge to prove conclusively that a patient is free of the virus. Perhaps the current test isn't accurate enough or there's some other reason why people are testing positive then negative and then positive again shortly after.

From what I’ve read it’s not been a case of reinfection has it? More that the virus has been dormant and then resurfaced.

Still worrying but better than the prospect of reinfection

The article quotes experts who say it's unlikely that the virus has a dormancy period. Note they didn't entirely rule it out though. I would imagine that it's likely to be faulty testing or in the haste to clear patients some have slipped through the cracks when they should have been cared for longer. That's just speculation on my part though. There's no particular reason why it should be South Korea seeing this but there are few if any reports of it happening elsewhere.

This is why talks of a quick relaxation on the lockdown are ridiculous. What the point in "almost" clearing the thing and then letting everyone back on the streets to let it run riot.

Fury as Priti Patel pushes immigration crackdown guide during coronavirus crisis

Sigh. What a genuinely idiotic thing to do, yeah lets get rid of all those pesky low paid foreigners whilst we are in the middle of a pandemic, a pandemic which many of these "pesky foreigners" are doing vital jobs. Surely we have more important matters on the agenda right now?

Seriously thinking of leaving this country once this is all over, its ran by pyschopaths and the majority of the populace lap up any bullshit they serve. How is Priti Patel even in the cabinet given her record of committing treason and bullying?

Not to mention we look at this from privileged positions. Few countries have the ability to go through a drastic economy crash without mass casualties.
Already for instance many Indians are desperately pleading that they cant get food on their tables and it's only recently begun, the worst is yet to come regarding the economy crash.

Do those 10-100s of millions that WILL die from a worldwide economy crash not matter?
Because people seem to keep talking about it as if it doesnt.
