I made it clear from my very first post in the rules thread that it's current ability. & I mentioned it several times in that thread & explained it. It hasn't changed to it, it always was & still is about current ability.

Where did I ever say it was completely based on form?

    I also told Shane...

IMO, it was a balance of performances from this season, last season and current ability.

That's until everyone started posting whoscored ratings...

    I was going by this:

Still think Kane is overrated and that doing it for 2/3 of a season and doing nothing noteworthy before this season would make him a risk.

I like the criteria in the World Tour draft of 'on his best day at his peak'. Easier to judge that.

I have to take one from each of the eliminated teams in my group right? In which case, I can't figure out who to take from Bleeds' team. Medhi Benatia was world class last season, but he's had fitness troubles since his move to Bayern (and Kjaer is a good CB anyway), and the only other option I can really think of is Alves in place of Verhaegh. Do people still rate Alves? I haven't watched enough of Barca this season.

Even if you don't rate him (because he plays for your rivals undoubtedly) he has Robben, Muller and Hazard behind him. Hazard is a step up on Griezmann and I have significantly strengthened my defence.

I'm going to back Verhaegh and leave him in. Instead, I'll take Miralem Pjanic from Bleeds.

My 3 steals: Rodriguez, Busquets, Pjanic.

Rodriguez is a considerable upgrade over Kolarov. He's possibly the best attacking fullback in the world and definitely the one in the best form. I also now have the option to play 4-3-3 with Busquets sitting, Schweinsteiger, and one of Pjanic and Xhaka filling the other two spots, Xhaka if I need more steel and control, Pjanic if I want more attacking impetus. I can also play 4-2-3-1 with either De Jong or Busquets alongside Schweini and Pjanic in the hole. If this means Calhanoglu drops to the bench then I can cover for that, as Pjanic offers more goals from open play and Rodriguez and Pjanic are both dead ball specialists like the Turk.

    Possible midfields.

    Busquets
    Schweini, Pjanic

    De Jong
    Schweini, Xhaka

    De Jong/Busquets, Schweinsteiger
    Yarmolenko, Pjanic/Calhanoglu, Reus

I randomized the second place teams, highest on the list was the choice to play Viper (me left out), Easty (Shane left out), AJ, then Shane was left for Bob, these are the fixtures...

Quarter Final 1 Viper v Guyett
Quarter Final 2 Easty v CV

    Quarter Final 3 - AJ v Ollie
    Quarter Final 4 - Bob v Shane

To avoid teams from the same group playing each other before the final, the semis will be Q1 v Q2 & Q3 v Q4.

Please send me your tactics so we can get them under way!
