The New Rangers & Scotland Manager Alex Ferguson?
Keep taking the tablets
short answer: no
long answer definitely no
After a relentless campaign by their friends in the media (on order) to get McInnes to Ibrox it seems the press pack have now switched their attention to Michael O'Neil.
Call me a cynic but I really don't think so.
On a similar note as above, hearing that O'Neil is the choice of the SFA for the Scotland gig.
They'll never stand in the way of their masters if he's wanted at Ibrox. We have already had a similar scenario when the cardigan was allowed to walk away scot free to go to the old club.
I think people need to take a closer look at O'Neill. He has done well for Norn but they are dire to watch and not even that good a team. They got massive praise in the Euros last year but they were dismal. Personally I can't see him going there and he would be mad to. His background will be brought up pretty much after their first spanking from us.
First of all i'm confident that neither Rangers would offer O'Neil a contract due to his background and O'Neil would want to go there due to the club being a shambles. . . . .yet again it's a campaign driven by the media.
As far as O'Neil himself I understand what you're saying but his NI team was built on their strengths which was a solid defence. He certainly got them punching well above their weight, yes they were poor at the Euros but it was a huge achievement just to get there considering the pool of players they had/have. I've said before Scotland have a better standard of player in our squad but O'Neil got NI there. He also got Shamrock Rovers into the Europa group stages which was huge.
The only drawback is that he seems to be very defensive.
Was told this before lunch today by a mate with a good source at Celtic Park. .

Michael O’Neill is the man wanted by the @ScottishFA to replace Gordon Strachan as Scotland manager.
I Would prefer Martin Oneil if Ireland dont go through.
Love Martin O'Neil but I think he's had his day.
Rumours of Australia coach (who has just quit) getting the gig. . . .Ange Postecoglou.
Never managed outside Australia, would be another huge gamble.
