Yeah, she has technically been demoted. (Foreign to International Trade)

Will the punishments ever end for poor Emily?

@JTC77 Indeed, and parts of the report showing conversations between officials shed a light into a very nasty culture within the party power structure. Rotten party.

It's not just the left either. Burnham has been pretty scathing about the party too.

It's not a good look for a party that wishes to govern, but reading through this it doesn't sound too different to the regular cliquey office politics and in-joke bollocks that play out on a daily basis up and down the country in SME's & large corporations.

Ah well, they've had their way and ousted Nicola Murray, it'll be interesting to see what direction Labour now take.

Yeah, to a point that seems to cover it - office politics. But then it goes further and the report apparently says that factionalism within the party led to antisemitism cases being mismanaged prior to Formby (a Corbyn ally) taking over as General Secretary.

Beyond that, stuff about candidates contact details being purposely withheld from the leadership during an election is bloody disgraceful. And well, sadly the bullying behaviour directed towards Diane Abbott isn't even surprising anymore.

Of course it was neither racist nor xenophobic, but it was perceived as derogatory, and if I remember correctly the image she posted was more about the house being covered in St. George cross flags rather than a white van. :shrug

Someone started a thread on here about Dianne Abbott. An easy target for bullies.

Why is that racist ? She was being a bit sniffy and definitely snobby, but racist ?

To be honest blokes driving around in vans with flags hanging out of them just looks tacky, and tasteless.

    Oops! I'm being snobby.

Starmer has nailed his colors to the mast by creeping and crawling around the BOD and being too willing to go with the tide.

Any, " thinking" person can see that barely existant anti-semitism within Labour was weaponised by the right wing press, Tories, and anti Corbyn elements within Labour, (as this report has illustrated), to good effect, I might add.

Corbyn and McDonald must take their share of the blame by trying to appease those who weren't interested in any change of tack.

The first part is a key test for Starmer. He can't legitimately claim to leave no stone unturned re antisemitism and then not follow that up.

The second part is awful. A kick in guts for all the members, activists and voters who have tried to win elections, whilst senior officials worked against them.

They should, and Corbyn in particular should have been stronger as leader.
    ..................................................

It sounds like there's more in the report, and the central Labour team have been doing this for some time.

In a hotly contested byelection between UKIP and Conservatives!!! My local constituency.

Not racist or xenophobic, it just came across at the time as someone looking down on the "white van" man. Completely mis-judged the atmosphere at the time, just evidence that she doesnt have that natural ability to connect with the public.

Sounds like there is/was two different parties in Labour and sounds like Starmer needs to expel and demote some of the more right leaning saboteurs.

    @JTC77

Can't believe Andy Burnham wasn't even considered "pure" enough to these psychos.

And they say "Corbynism" was a cult...

It's a disgrace tbh. Empirical studies into online abuse directed at MPs showed she receives the bulk of it and I wonder why...?

Weak, feeble minded people like an easy target. And it needs to stop.
