Sharp and Basham will miss both of our games over the weekend, and potentially the rest of the season.

    Timing :)

Obviously both are big players for you but you've got adequate replacements, right?

Well, in that case, it's playoffs for you then I suppose.

We have for Basham. Cranie will come in and do the reliable job he always does. Sharp's a different matter though.

I'd move McGoldrick into midfield with Hogan and Madine up front now. It certainly changes our dynamic going into the final games.

Basham was the best player for you lot at Deepdale I thought, played at CB and touched the ball in our box more than our strikers did in yours! I remember him at Blackpool as being a lumbering CB, couldn't believe what I was seeing the other week.

He's perfect for our system because he's not good enough positionally to be a centre half, and not technically good enough to be a midfielder. It's an ideal role for him.

I think he's so dangerous when he's running with the ball because nobody knows what he'll do next, including himself!

Excellent post, made me laugh because it’s so true.
Basham is easily our least technical player, on the ball he often looks like Bambi on ice.
Based on ability he’s not good enough but he’s often so effective, so flexible/ versatile and so important in our system.
Another factor that wins over the fans is that his work rate is phenomenal, he’s also such a battler and gives 100% every game.

    definitely at that stage now.

Barry ruled out for the rest of the season & play offs. Bad news. Had a good season after redeeming his self from last season

Is there going to be another twist in the race for 2nd with Leeds losing after Sheffield United won?

Villa winning again but Tammy Abraham off injured.

We can no longer go up automatically. :(

Abraham being injured is a blow, but he's been huffing and puffing for weeks (yet still got a goal and an assist today, proving his ability if anything), if we can get him rested and fit for the playoffs I'll be happy enough, though that, on initial viewing, looks unlikely. Kodjia and Davis are more than competent strikers in fairness though.

We both should be resting players now. We dropped Rodriguez out the side today and Livermore to the bench. Think we will look to give Dawson/Gayle a rest Monday too

Only thing with us is we need to keep up this ridiculous momentum, it could really screw us were we to rest too many after a 9 game winning streak, it could massively give our momentum a good beating.
