Us too at the City Ground - no win in 7 games and 6/7 defeats before we played you.
Lost 3 in a row after a decent run and looking like getting out of it a tad. Lost at home to Cardiff in a game that could have gone either way then lost 1-0 away at Bournemouth and Norwich where we didn't expect anything. Next few games are crucial to us stopping up. Still think we are good enough to stay up just a shame we messed about with the team earlier in the season and threw points away
We really are in a relegation fight now. We’re absolutely shite, lost 7 on the bounce, haven’t scored a goal in 5 hours...
Next 3 matches...
How the **** has it got to this?
Dont be so dramatic.........or that was what we were being told by a couple of clueless Forest fans a couple of months back on here.
We are so far down shit creek its not even funny anymore.
You are still overreacting you only need a couple more wins at most you will probably get that with a new manager bounce alone
City have had a tough fixture list but have an easy run to the end of the season - a bit of organisation under a new manager and players returning from injury will get them the 2-4 wins they need.
The hysteria from the City fans is ridiculous! The only way they go down is if their injury crisis gets any worse and they lose all the rest of their games - not likely.
This is an overlooked aspect of good runs/bad runs.
People start making predictions on their season after a short run of easy/hard fixtures.
Derby last year for example played about 6 teams in a row who were in the bottom 6. They won all their matches and started thinking they were good enough to get in the play-offs. What happened when they started playing play-off teams? They lost them all.
Leeds last year had a 6 game period against the top teams where they lost 2/3 matches and people started saying the wheels are falling off and they won't go up. What happened when they started playing teams at the bottom/mid-table? They started winning with ease again and went up comfortably.
Ourselves this season during our bad run, we were playing the top teams/top 10 teams so drew more games than we won and fans wanted Rowett gone. Now we're playing teams around the bottom - Sheff Wed/Birmingham/Wycombe and winning/drawing, we are looking okay. Now the fans are happy, and are overly optimistic about our performances.
let’s not reinvent history. I dont remember us saying that on this forum. If you’re referring to Twitter then every football fans would present extremes
The midweek results so far have been kind. I'm not expecting anything from the Swansea game so pretty much status quo.
Anything would be a bonus but a win would be really put pressure on those below us.
We were on Saturday, but then another 2 players out tonight and we put an abject performance in again! The fact we might be signing 3 free transfers shows how bad our injury list is. I hope we get atleast 2 of them over the line, otherwise we’re relying on youth players who just aren’t up to the task.
WE ARE STAYING UP SAY WE ARE STAYING UP
Another good win and clean sheet Our form is improving our last 4 games have been W2,D1 and L1 and if we can keep that sort of form going we might yet escape it all depends on other teams directly above us. Problem is our next 2 games are Norwich and Watford.
There's some real dross down there this season so you've got half a chance.
And you could get a result from one or both...it's the Championship....
Can't really complain too much about the results at the bottom today after our point last night. The only bad result was Brum winning but that at least keeps QPR in the mix.
Having struggled to build a gap between us and 22nd despite hitting form, it is nice to see that the gap is up to 11 points now. I'm starting to think that the bottom 3 might just be sorting itself out at the moment - Wycombe are down and both Rotherham and Sheff Wed are in torrid form. Going to be a battle for either of those to survive now I think
The bottom 3 look set at the moment tbh, cant believe Birmingham are getting out of it again
Think the win yesterday was just the boost we needed to consolidate our position and keep clear of the relegation scrap. Very poor first half, in fact we have looked very poor defensively sincer Lockyer s injury as well as defenders playing while not fully fit. I thought our performance at Stoke was the worst we'd played this season but our fast half yesterday really was rock bottom. Thankfully changes were made and we decided attack was the best form of defence. Remarkable come back which must surely put a nail in Wednesdays coffin. Psychologically a very poor result for them and they now look league one bound. Anything can happen though. Last seasons relegation dramas is proof of that.
Last seasons escapes were different I feel as the covid break allowed Luton and Barnsley a total reset. Without that break we both go down. Both overturned huge deficits and Hull and Charlton had meltdowns with panic stations at a couple of other Clubs
Rotherham have just had a tough run of 5 matches, Cardiff, Bournemouth, Norwich, Reading and Forest. They only lost each game by 1 goal as well which they should take some encouragement from.
They've got a lot of teams in their run in whose seasons are effectively over at this stage or by the time they'll meet them. Bristol City, Luton, ourselves, Huddersfield, Wycombe, QPR, Blackburn etc.
I wouldn't automatically assume they are down at the moment. It looks like 3 from the bottom 4 will drop though. Sheffield Wednesday keep losing important matches where they need to be picking up points from.
I fear we will be gone our squad just isn't big enough to cope with the freak injury list we've had and still got this season. Very important players have missed months and are still out. Shame because if it wasn't for the injurys I think we'd have been fine
