    Echo this.

Currently about 2 weeks into my 30 day guest pass and it really is excellent. Will be subscribing afterwards so would recommend anyone taking Gal up on his offer.

Did you read the article you sent? Not once does Buck mention bankruptcy and if anything the headline supports my point of story being exaggerated for readers.

Who cares about term bankruptcy, you were about to default on a loan. That doesn't need exaggerating. Being unable to pay your loans is not a good financial look.

Either way it's a great stat, which I guess is the purpose of this thread, rather than discussing Chelsea's finances .

We weren’t though. It was being handled is the whole point I’m making as we weren’t “on the brink of bankruptcy”.

I’m not claiming we didn’t have financial concerns that we had to stay on top of but the story everyone seems to think is we were a week away from being the next Leeds United which is exaggerated.

Since the start of last season, KDB has been involved in more goals than any other player (35 - 14 goals, 21 Assists) - 3 ahead of Salah (22G, 10A).

Imagine thinking Thiago is the best mudfielder in the world ahead of De Bruyne, smh

There is literally an article from the time where Bruce Buck is quoted saying as much.

I’m not talking about bankruptcy, I’m talking about loans the club we’re unable to pay. Which is not a good look.

In fact, these excerpts are from a book called Chelsea FC: The Official Biography

 So was Chelsea exaggerating their own financial peril?

New position or writing with an accent?

KDB really is sensational, you keep him fit all season I think you’ll win the league.

yes i did. its pretty clear what it said which is not in alignment with your director really is it.

In any event as i said it's pretty much just an idle argument isn't it? how bad was it and I just have a recollection form the time that doesn't align with you guys and I won't pretend that its anything but shooting the breeze on it. I just recall it was bad and your you there says as much where you were looking like refinancing wasn't happening.

In the end if we look back at leeds when did they go bankrupt, if you look back at us how close to the bank taking over and administration were we? you were close too much your case bates went and sold up before he was forced and it all work out. Happy days!

conversely you take him out and what does that city side look like?

dare i say it, a little more ordinary?

walker, stones, ake, mendy. Nothing there to scare the world. Rodri, fernandinho (aged) sterling (mis-alot) foden (kid) and jesus. All good players but De bryune is the match winner and start isn't he?

What was mre impressive was how city just hit the ground running there and just outplayed wolves. De bruyne or now they were dominating the ball everywhere so you have to give guardiola credit there.

The contrast to utd at the weekend is stark isn't it!

A player of his ability would always make a team weaker if they were injured and whilst City would be weaker if that happened they’d be way more than ordinary, they’d be still a great side stacked with top talent and a top manager.

Utd are a whole different kettle of fish, they have a shit manager and a team stacked with average players with a few gems.

Transfer market still open though so both could improve further.

You both started a week late so it’s naturally the comparison to make.

    talent?

seriously though its purely superficial look at two clubs from the same city starting their season a week late but on the same weekend. you and city were the only clubs (bar your opponents of course) to start late.

the contrast is stark despite all the obvious differences which make the comparison superficial.

    :ashamed
