correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t city have injuries last season that hurt yheir defence?.
As in all three main CBs suffering season ending injuries, two of them just weeks into the season? The the two CMs covering for them getting injured? Err nope
Laporte maybe, but he ended up playing nearly as many games last season than VVD, Gomez and Matip combined managed this season.
Not sure if it’s the defence that’s the problem tbh.
At this stage last season Liverpool had a goal difference of +45.
I’d be interested to see how many goals you had conceded at that stage to compare.
Edit - you’d scored 60 and conceded only 15. So they’ve conceded 19 more goals and scored 15 less
We've already conceded more goals than last season.
Being serious for a minute i think most teams have finally worked out Liverpools style.........its the same every game, pretty easy to stop most of the attacks.
Holgate man marked Mane out of the game last saturday.
It is, the issues in defence are having a knock on effect on the whole team.
No CB issues we have Henderson and Fabinho in midfield, we have Thiago playing further forward than he's being asked, we wouldnt have the FBs more hesitant to bomb forward and even Firmino is spending too much time dropping deeper.
I got news for you Johnny, Mane has been poor for about 6 weeks....Djimi Traore could man mark him out of a game
Yeah Liverpool were pretty lame.........think the occasion got to them, bullied from the off.
Next derby, normal service will resume and you'll be waiting another decade or so for a win
You're in the best form for years, we're in our worst for a few years.
Our best away form yes i agree........i think the tide has turned mate....enjoy the ride.
Mane is having such a shit season my dead gran could mark him tbh.
Whats happening with him? doesn't seem interested.
**** knows him and Firmino just look crap atm Salah is carrying our attack hard luckily Jota is back this week.
I think Henderson missing is a big problem i imagine he drives the team when things are not going to plan.
Yeah that's the main issue Klopp seems to think him at CB was fine though the stubborn old mule.
He's looked as if he has the world on his shoulders, never seems to smiling like he usually does, just doesn't look happy...who knows? maybe covid and the world we live in today has effected him more than others? Maybe rumours linking him to Real, etc?
Yeah i agree, he would normally be all over the pitch v us like the 1st derby of the season. Looks a shadow of himself.
tbf if you look at your team coming out for the second half in the tunnel you can say all of them looked un interested. Then you look at our lot coming out they are all up for it.
Very weird to see.
Yeah none of our lot looked up for the fight bar Trent tbh shocking to see in a derby.
Maybe the fact we finally won the league last season and not allowed to celebrate and milk the adulation has put them all in a "Whats the ****ing point" mood?
Imagine this season, Anfield chocker, crowd buzzing with the title success and all that, these players would be buzzing, crowd would be well up for it...instead we have tepid no atmosphere fake friendly like football
Just wish the season would end and next season not even begin until fans are let back in.
My very bitter blue nose bro in law even said the other day, any other year he'd be buzzing with the win, but he barely got excited over it. Even myself, after a few hours I was over it...other seasons I'd be gutted all the following week
Yep i've barely commented on the result myself.
Teams have started pushing back Liverpools full backs so hoof and hold up for the incoming full backs isn't working, need a plan B.
