Manchester United only signed Ighalo from China to bring the Coronavirus to England to get the season cancelled so Liverpool don’t win the league...
This might create a bit of debate!!
Match of the Day: Top 10 podcast - Premier League's best goalscorers
of that list kane is a distant 10th.
interesting list though.
as usual however it's the prem since 2000 or since 2010.
how robbie Fowler is left off.
Once you take Shearer out it's an interesting debate.
Dwight Yorke gets overlooked quite often. He scored more than a few on that list, and he set up a load. His goals were also important to winning trophies.
I suspect he might have even put himself top!
Nikila Jelavic should be in at no 9 imo.
Absolutely banged them in everywhere he went and has a career record of 1;2 goal ratio. He could have legitimately been the next Fowler if he bothered and didn't have the attitude as we saw in the early days of his Everton and West Ham spell.
Surprised Salah isn't on that list given how much better his goals per game is than a lot on there.
Shearer easily #1.
Rooney shouldn't be on that list.
In terms of goal scoring ratio:
Henry 0.68 Kane 0.68
Cole 0.45 Lukaku 0.45
I'm sure you're trolling but Kane should be way ahead of several on there.
Its Drogba who should be a distant 10th and theres many others who should be ahead of him in the top 10. Great player but never a great or prolific goalscorer apart from in 1 season. Only hit more than 12 PL goals in 2 of his 8 PL seasons. The likes of Van Persie, Wright, Fowler, Hasselbaink and many others should be ahead of him in this kind of list.
These can be used as part of bigger picture sure but don't tell full story.
Some enter league already having made a name, some start as kids, some spend only their peak here, injuries, teams they play for etc.
?? Andy Cole and Shearer played majority of 90s.
Deffo case for Fowler but he only hit 15 goals three times in his 16 year career in PL. His peak was fantastic but exceptionally short.
yet suarez is in???
its certainly biased to the more recent players.
I'd be more than happy to take suarez out and put Fowler in.
2 of the 10 were in 90's. :
There were only 7 PL seasons in 90s compared to 20 since.
Seems fairly obvious tbf chief.
As is your want.
But for me Suarez>>>>Fowler.
More prolific in his peak than Fowler in his, offered more too plus had a 30 goal season.
Hit double figures in all but his final 2 seasons at United.
Only hit 15 league goals 4 times, and only two of those were 20+, despite being the penalty taker for 9 years. Les Ferdinand, who isn't on the list hit 15 goals 5 times, with 3 of those being 20+.
Les Ferdinand also never scored a penalty.
See that there, that I did not know.
yes it was just a hook to see if any spurs fans were bothered
