Oh dear. The outside the church holding a bible photo op was plain creppy.
Playing to his base.
I am shaking mad right now this is f*cking wrong on so many levels for a f*cking ego trip.
This right here is why these protests cannot be peaceful if they are to achieve change.
The past couple of nights here in Minnesota have been COMPLETELY peaceful and law enforcement shot first. Protesters didn't even have a chance to provoke them because they were being shot at from 30 yards out.
Look at this f*ckhead.
I don’t have the words buddy. We’d have gone to war with other dictators for this or similar in the past. Stay safe man.
Mate if this happened in Panama, Guatemala, or Vietnam the US would have already intervened.
Trump is genuinely scary.
It's dangerous enough to have to deal with calculated evil.
But evil that simply acts on ego... good luck to all of us.
I am really hoping there is some way the international allies can put pressure on Trump.
EDIT: Once again, this is an ego trip.
I've seen so many videos of people randomly being pulled from the streets for doing nothing. Is there some purge style thing going on over there or what. The videos genuinely remind me of the Nazi's when they used to round up Jewish people and make them disappear. The USA somehow needs to get rid of Trump.
Meanwhile this is a statement (the screenshots, not the tweet) from the Minneapolis Police Union President. Makes you wonder why guys like George Floyd die and now peaceful protesters and journalists are getting pelted by rubber bullets.
Trying to think of some canny messaging, vis-a-vis police reform, that could tie the Floyd case to the Damond incident a few years ago, but this basically seems impossible in the American political climate. All across the West, we're knees-deep into a decades-long culture war that shows no signs of abating.
I've seen some of the proposed political/policy demands but these seem to alternate between the lacklustre and facile ('defund police') to completely unrealistic ('abolish police'). It seems to me that when you have a show of popular force big enough to move the president into a bunker, a force big enough to scare the president into sending in the National Guard and impose a curfew, that you're probably also in a position to make a set of broader political demands that actually have widespread national support. But alas, there is no organised left to speak of, and certainly no labour movement strong enough to actually shutdown centres of capital.
It's impressive but it's fragmented, leaderless and directionless. Good luck to them all the same.
@Marty_LFC That sucks. They didn't even seem willing to comprehend they might own the store or be protecting it. w
Why else would they flag you down oFfiCEerrr?
It's so absurd. Again I get this is a very difficult situation for everyone, but much like I say to people who weirdly complain and compare some people rioting to police doing this or continuously killing people, THE POLICE ARE TRAINED TO BE GOOD AT THEIR JOBS.
If I f*cked up that bad for my company, not only would my ass be fired, my company would never get any business again - and that's considering how unlikely it is for someone to die at the hands of another in f*cking advertising .
Like Chris Rock said, there are some jobs that CANNOT have any bad apples. Police and pilots are a couple of them.
Marty not sure how pro or anti Trump CNN are as I rarely watch the channel but they have tonight tore him apart. About these peaceful protestors that were fired upon with tear gas and rubber bullets, just so they could clear the way to the church to allow Trump a photo opportunity? WTF?
I cant see how even the staunchest Trump fan can defend him after tonight, he's lost the plot completely. As someone said earlier in the thread, the man is scary...he's a threat to the peace of this planet, mentally unstable without a doubt.
CNN are 'enemy of the state' per Trump, so I guess they're not fans . But the last bit you reported is just factual reporting, commentary aside, that's exactly what they did. The reason why it's EXTRA despicable is because they did it about 30 minutes before curfew. The protesters were not only peaceful, they were allowed to be there for another few minutes. Had Trump waited a half hour, it would have at least looked like law enforcement breaking it up for curfew, but that f*cks over his strong man delusion, even if it means violating the FIRST AMENDMENT.
I do not want to be in the mind of a Trump supporter, so I'll show you what a former big Trump fan said:
They love that their muse is perpetuating their deranged beliefs. Given credibility by the highest office in the country. Pathetic.
Hey mate, sorry it took a while, but here's the PPE's
