Fans blaming the football authorities/wealth in the game/celebrity figures when their club hits the wall. Usually happens after the club willingly spent money it didn't have or malicious ownership.

Often there's no protest until the 11th hour, when it's just some gormless mugs with sad faces on TV as the stadium gets locked up for good.

Fans need to take ownership of their clubs and realise its every bit their own, moreso than any owner's. Some supporters need to get some pride and fight to keep their history ffs.

Remember when the town got shafted by Hamilton. He wanted to sell the ground for housing and relocate the ground somewhere else. Thankfully the supporters put up a fight and the High court ruled in our favour. Even remember it getting a little nasty with personal stuff like his address going public so some would go hassling him at home.

Recently got done over when the car park was sold to put student flats there and the club was promised a cash injection......didnt even see one penny of the many pounds made from the sale of land.

Hamilton, Guterman, Retout, Moss, Roberts.. Booth, Cleeve & that Horsey bloke from Shropshire all circling like vultures at the time too.

I don't condone violence, and AFAIK it was only ever peaceful protest, but I think it was necessary for fans visiting his house all hours to drive home the point that the club meant something to a lot of people, otherwise you get people like Steve Dale who have physical distance between them and the club, not caring one bit because he's in his ivory tower.

The student flats was a low point, but very few cared at the time because we had Saunders assembling a good squad and we were constantly pushing for promotion. It'll make stadium expansion a pain in the arse if we ever get higher than League One.

There's a growing perception, in north america atleast, that football is a sport for scumbags.

    Diving, cheating, faking, racism.

    That's how it's perceived

Well.... I'm not sure they care enough here to know how racist it is in some places.

They moan about the faking injuries and "every game is 0-0." They just watch the highlights.

in 1984 when Moran scored the winner at Fratton Lawrie McMenemy commented that he himself was now £4.50 richer in loose change and had 2lb's of bananas to take home because the fans had been throwing them at Wallace.

I think it's far to say it's not that bad anymore.

Football has been banging on about cracking America for decades - bringing back the racism could be a bold move to at least make a start on winning over the southern states?

Not modern, but it's been creeping in over the last 5-10 years; Giving away supporters a tucked-away corner section of the stadium rather than behind the goal. Proper stifles any atmosphere.

Which I always find funny because in the NBA they cry everytime they are touched and flop for fouls. They then complain about "being slaves" even though they are paid millions and you can't even call the team owners "owner" because players see it as racist.

American sports (outside of baseball) are worse than anything in soccer/football when it comes to cheating/diving/racism.

Completely agree with you about basketball although I feel they are influenced by football players.

What about American football? you’re telling me more fakers in American football than Football?

I’m sorry but Football stands above all else in cheating and corruption.

    Take juve as an example

These braindead supporters who despite at this stage knowing much better, given how much attention has been given to racism recently, still sing songs like this and find it hilarious.

    "Marvellous Nakambah
    His dads a rasta,
    McGinn's his master,
    His cocks f'in massive."

Only the three racist stereotypes in that one.

Supposed adults making up and singing songs about some players cock. What is that all about? Definitely an Arsenal thing going back to Tony Adams, then again their supporters are generally weirder than most.
