Did anybody else watch the program on BBC1 at 9 tonight and what are your thoughts?

Three Girls, Series 1: Episode 1

The whole thing makes my blood boil, the police who ****ed the case off in the first place and that vile bitch of a social worker all need life IMO. The scumbags involved in the rape gang all need much worse. :angryfire:angryfire:angryfire

Yeah should have put something about it in the Op.

It's about the journey 3 girls go through as Rochdale's sex abuse ring get their grip on them, it's harrowing but a must watch and hopefully something will finally start to get moving and people prosecuted for neglect (police/social workers etc) and the abusers get locked up for life.

I hope this is a joke or you're disgusting.

Christ that was a difficult watch, i nearly turned over when the fat **** raped the girl for the first time. Glad i stayed with it as i cant wait to see the scum go down. With Three Girls and Little Boy Blue it's been a depressing few days on tv.

    And a tad brain dead.

Same here, but the attitude of that panel was the most sickening .

Anyway episode 2 is tonight at 9, hopefully it doesn't get any more horrific but I doubt it.

Because they are lazy ****s who want a nice cushy job where they don't do anything, they should all be sacked as they're all connected to the pakistani gangs and they don't want to offend their buddies.

Superb acting all round in a programme that needed to be seen even though it was harrowing viewing, could you imagine how you'd feel if that was your daughter? The barristers for the defendants need to seriously look at themselves for the way they defended scum who abused children, maybe if it was their kids being raped by fat Asian men they might take a different view but money talks i suppose.

Everyone is entitled to a defence in a court of law , never mind how disgusting they are.The lead witness blew that defence out of the water by sticking to her guns .Justice was served ,but a lot more people need to take a long hard look at themselves ,the council , police and CPS were all at fault for letting it slide for so long.

That was a brutal watch. Upsetting at the going ons. Too many people need to be made accountable for the mishandling of these young girls.

    Great acting and brilliantly written.

One of the most disgraceful things is that even after trial and the successful prosecution and all the media attention about the cover ups and the appalling way the girls were treated, the authorities have still tried to cover their arses and almost punish those who refused to let the investigation drop and ultimately exposed the truth. That Sara the sexual health woman who led this from the start and refused to let it drop unbelievably got accused of not escalating her concerns and reporting her suspicions when for seven years that's all she was doing. She got taken off all work with vulnerable children before being made redundant a year later. What an absolute utter disgrace, she should be getting an OBE or something not getting punished by those she shamed. It shows that the attitudes that allowed this abuse to continue for so long are still alive and kicking and absolutely nothing has been learned. The first response is still to cover up and protect the establishment rather than look for the truth and punish those responsible regardless of who gets taken down in the collateral.

Just watched the final episode, heartrending stuff. The powers that be judged these children using adult values for far too long, and it beggars belief that not a single person in law enforcement, CPS, child protection or social services was ever taken to task for their collective failings. I don't know how some of the people depicted in the series sleep at nights.

The leader of the gang is appealing his deportation to Pakistan at the public's expense which doesn't surprise me in the slightest. Maybe now more people know what had been going on the ones who let it happen will pay for how they let these poor girls down with either losing their jobs or even prison for dereliction of duty.

The trial was in 2012, I can't see them going after the people who let it happen now, 5 years later.
