Exactly those sort of sides pay that for squad players these days.

Hearing Burnley, Southampton, Everton, Bournemouth and West Ham have all been watching him

I don't think we'd sell for £3m we'd just keep him for the last year.

On another note, there are also rumours that Caulker will be at Lennoxtown to train this week. . . although I don't know how that would work out if he's still under contract at QPR.

Would be disappointed and surprised to see Armstrong leave.

I think if he does go it will be a year or two too soon for him.

His choice though and if he does go he has done us a good turn and may prove me wrong by shining down there.

I have probably seen Caulker before without realising it, but by all accounts he is a good player who has just lost his way a bit.

It's maybe another one that Brendan can work his magic on.

Caulker was rated in the £10m + bracket a few years ago and is still in top condition, if Rodgers can get him focused he could be a great signing.

A London news/sport agency tonight claiming Rodgers met Caulker again today an a deal is close. They say we've spoken to QPR and we could be landing him for free with possibly a decent sell on clause.

This is a potential signing i'm excited about, we all know it could go spectacularly wrong if he turns to the rink again but if he can stay off it and get back to doing what he does best he'll be a fantastic signing and will really strengthen us in an area where it's needed.

Have you seen a lot of him mate?

If so, what are his strongest assets?

He looks to me like a big physical guy who should win headers all day long, but is there more to his game than that?

He's a winner who has the obvious physical attributes but is comfortable on the ball as well and can play from the back. I wanted him last year when all sorts of ex Swansea players were being linked.

If you do a search of his name on here you'll get a lot of comment about him, from both us last year and others down south from before that.

Of course it could go pear shape because of other factors but a chance definitely worth taking imo.

Free transfer and paying around £20-25k a week for a guy who has managed to get an England cap, but who needs to sort out some off field issues.

    I would say it's worth a shot.

    Definitely.

I'd say his contract will be full of clauses as well. Maybe getting £10k a week then £500k at the end of the year should there be no mishaps etc.

Caulker should be a done deal by Friday.

Hearing QPR are happy to let go as long as they get a good sell on clause, so am guessing more than the usual 10-15%.

I think that speaks volumes for the reputation of Rodgers in getting the best out of players and getting them enjoying their football again.

Oh my...do not touch Caulker with a barge pole.....he was dreadful.
Armstrong deal to us is looking promising.
Also we want Patrick Roberts on loan from Man City....he was with you last season wasn't he?.....good prospect or not?

Armstrong will be a good signing but Roberts will be even better. He's a top prospect and already has a lot of ability.

Armstrong is a tireless midfielder who can chip in with goals. He's really developed his game this season.

Roberts is an intelligent winger with great technique and a good eye for goal. He's a clever player too. Good at linking up with other attackers to create space.

Caulker's an excellent centre back, he's had his lows when he wasn't functioning off the park.

Plenty rumours about Armstrong going/staying. . ..the latest here is that we won't be selling him in this window whether he's signed on again or not but who knows.

Saw you were linked to Roberts on loan, he'd be an excellent signing but it really depends on what style of football you play. If he gets a free reign to just go and do his stuff he'll shine, if he's expected to wok back etc then he'll struggle.

I still have a very small glimmer of hope he'll be back at Celtic Park but most likely he'll go to a club like yourself in England.

Agreed about Caulker....he has his demons....which really did hamper his ability...which we saw first hand.
I'm excited about both Armstrong and Roberts....we have a new gaffer so it's early to see his way of thinking how to utilise someone like Roberts.
We have Tadic and Boufal who both roam in a 10 role to a certain degree.

I think Liverpool have signed Robertson from Hull. £8m rising to £10m which should put the Tierney stories to bed.

Excellent piece of business considering the money spent down there.

Sky saying Celtic and Marseille have held talks over a £20 million move for Dembele.

I personally believe he will go, but the bidding will start at £20 million and go north of there with add onns and it won't be till after CL qualifiers.

Shame because we could see a special player in the making.
