    Ale is served around room temperature but lager needs to be chilled. Possibly some IPA's need to be cold too.

    I can see people are really interested. Just to say I am a little overweight, but not massively so as my build is on the larger side which accounts for some of the excess weight. My son isn't overweight, although he's only 13, he's built like a barn door. Glad to be of help. :laugh:

    I was in Poland for 3 days last week, in Krakow. And there, when the man is red you wait regardless of whether there is traffic or not, it's against the law not to. I found it weird to begin with but after a day or so you notice it works really well as every single person obeys it so there is no pissing around or confusion.

    A lot of Brits do. Mainly the pretentious real ale types/Loueez/old men. They also drink boiling hot cups of tea to rehydrate.

    Again, each to their own, but when I have a drink I generally prefer it to be ice cold and gloriously refreshing.

    Ale isn't meant to be ice cold. It tastes shit if you drink it so. However, nor is it meant to be lukewarm.

    I know, that's part of what makes it so gross.

    In my opinion of course.

    Yes, I know. Tasted it when I was in the UK. Not my "cup of tea" (so to say) :D

    Sorry, Pags, if this comes out that I think you're overweight. Wasn't my intention. I just asked if 16 stone is fat/slim because I had no clue what stone is in kilograms. And then my clumsy english. Shouldn't have said fat in this case.
    Same for your son, I didn't want to imply that he's overweight. When I mentioned that I also reached the height and weight of my father when I was 13 like your son I should also have mentioned that my father was of normal weight. Damn it, sometimes it's complicated to write in foreign language, so many pitfalls when you lack some words.

    It's the same in Germany. Mostly. Always some who go over when the red man is still on ;)

    Kirby, you're my man :cheers::laugh:

    In the UK you aren't breaking the law by doing this.

    :laugh: That would be beyond a trivial annoyance for me. Makes me wonder how people manage to cross the road without them. Oh hang on….

    Like I said, a couple of weeks ago I would have said exactly the same thing. But once you're there and you're forced to participate, it really isn't an issue and it strangely makes walking in built up areas with a lot of roads more sedate.

    Also, I'd bet any money cars hitting and injuring pedestrians are significantly lower in comparison to somewhere like the UK. It's properly enforced with on the spot fines for pedestrians and car drivers alike.

    Agreed I think the number of pedestrians hit and injured in the UK by invisible vehicles is shocking.
