He wasn't overrated at all. He couldn't defend for shit, but that's not his role. If anything he was underrated in his playing days and only since he packed in has he been given the credit he merited. He was far more revered and appreciated by foreign players and clubs than he was here. Perhaps because he was missing that tough tackling hard hitting side to the game that Keane and Gerrard were respected for that went down so well with British coaches and media.

The UEFA Champions League matches need to be played in one big block one week after the next as currently the fixtures are disjointed and teams loose momentum with them being so thinly spread out.

why does the UEFA champions league use a different stadium/venue to host it's Final every season?

I suspect it is a way of raising money & where sponsors and officials can have a good time. (Also go home leaving loads of unpaid bills?)
Probably why the Swiss don't complain about not getting a final.

Man Utd face a big test hosting Juve tonight, one I can see them having a fair bit of trouble passing.

Man City return to face a team who defeated them last season, which lead to the Shakhtar manager donning a Zorro mask. It's a tough trip but I don't see them facing the same difficult this time around, last season it was a dead rubber for City.

Mané is back available for Liverpool, good news. I expect rotation again, think we could see around 4-5 changes from the weekend.

Whilst it's definitely is so they can grease the wheel, the final changing venue is soemthign that should obviously happen.

it's randomly picked. If the Final was held in say Switzerland, would you be arsed to go? You'd only complain that it was too far away each year.
When it came to Cardiff the other year, went down a storm. Its a fair way of doing it. Sometimes it's nearby, sometimes it isn't. But it's nice to "tour" the final and use different cities/stadiums.

That Young Boys v Valencia game was an excellent watch in the second half. Proper end to end game of football.

Would have been a shame to see either side win that.

Was Pogba getting booed? Didn't think he left on that bad of terms, they got a cracking amount more than he was worth.

Lindelof and Rashford have played very well so far, and we look like we are making some half chances. A bit of luck could change this game.

Luck? We're being totally outclassed. We're a few levels below Juventus. Embarrassing.

Juventus are nowhere near good enough to win the CL, yet they are several levels above us. It just shows how bad United are.

I'm not saying we are not being outclassed. But something about this game makes me feel like soaking up the pressure and getting lucky with one of the half chances we are making isn't impossible, maybe scrapping a point.
Didn't expect much going into this one so 1-0 at HT is better than I thought.
