Good start for the German teams in the CL season:
Leipzig with a deserved 2-1 win at Benfica (2-times Timo Werner.) and although Dortmund could only get a 0-0 draw against Barca, they were the better team and a bit unlucky not to win.
So many chances against Barca. But thanks to ter Stegen, who also saved a penalty by Marco Reus, Barca got away with a draw.
Ter Stegen showed why he's a nominee for World's best Keeper award. That was a strong answer after the dispute with Manuel Neuer and his disappointment not to be in the German team since Neuers return right before the World cup after he played all our Qualifying matches in great form.

Today Bayern vs Red Star and Leverkusen vs Moscow. And back to Liverpool in the CL....

    So liverpool:

Klopp says its not a pen. Cos the player is jumping in before contact. We thats fair but the issue is the player also clearly kicked the ball away and robertson is taking his ground and andy's arm also guiltily goes up so the ref gives it. for me all the replays show andy never touched the ball or if he even it it was microscopic. The player is clearly jumping into Robertson but in europe decisions are given differently.

None of our players complained really. Robertson was on a yellow so couldn't. I'm shocked we didn't surround ref as napoli has come out second half and were getting in his face all half.

the game firmino played was disappointing. I won't say awful as he was in good places and working hard but my god his passing was absolutely woeful and decisions so poor.

Mane and salah should have scored and we should have won 1-0.

But then again adrian produced great saves.

The only real disappointment was the second goal. If we'd ended 0-1 i reckon we'd still top the group but now we were depending on them dropping points somewhere and losing to us.

2nd in the group is no big deal anyway as the knockouts is all about anfield.

they have fudged it to make it utterly meaningless.

Theres zero point reviewing stuff if the threshold is now basically so high that the matip foul at the weekend is not a pen. My god that was ridiculous.

    What I saw was

    a) robertson didn't get ball
    b) mertens jumped into him
    c) robertson has taken his ground

The only conclusion i could draw is the ref thought that robertson's actions were enough to deny the player his run. However once you then VAR ,and they had to cos its a VAR area, then they must have ignored B) totally.

Are they now calling these "matters of opinion" cos if they are then don't bother using video.

My opinion was Saturday an absolute stonewall pen was ignored by var and last night we didn't lean on the ref enough to even get a var review on the screen by himself.

We've hands down got one of the worst followings on social media. It's why I avoid it like the plague.

If you say so, but Ajax didn't fail to score in a home game in all competitions last season and they didn't lose an away game in this competition all last season either...

Ajax will do Chelsea home & away. Be surprised if Chelsea don’t finish bottom of the group tbh.
