Supposing the 1966 had taken place in the whole of the UK with a full UK team, how many non-English players would have made the final eleven? Best? Law, Bremner? Jennings?

Would any Welsh players have made it?

Just a fantasy question for the football free times.

John Charles is a certain starter.

Sky had a panel select a British eleven around the turn of the century, and this is what they came up with:

    Pat Jennings (Northern Ireland)

    Bobby Moore (England)
    John Charles (Wales)
    Danny McGrain (Scotland)
    Ray Wilson (England)

    Bobby Charlton (England)
    Duncan Edwards (England)
    Stanley Matthews (England)
    George Best (Northern Ireland)

    Dennis Law (Scotland)
    Jimmy Greaves (England)

John Charles was in the twilight of his career with us in 1966 and past his prime. At his peak would have strolled into the team.

Otherwise from Wales, Mike England perhaps?
