Two teams going through an absolute dire period, both desperate for the win to kick start their season and try and get a bit of confidence going.

I haven't got a clue what our team will be, we're Zaha-less so our creative output will be about half of what it was, if we're lucky. We really need the likes of Puncheon and Townsend to step up and start doing the business. I assume Benteke is still injured so i'd be tempted to start Remy even if we only get 45 minutes out of him.

Sammy Lee has joined the club which I think is a good move, we need fresh ideas and a new approach if we are to turn this shocker of a season around.

But I think it's going to be a bog standard 1-0 home win.

Looking forward to to this despite our form and the fact we probably won't be able to see the pitch from our seats in the upper tier.

Losing Zaha is a big blow but at least we've gained Remy. Sounds like Dann and McArthur (two of our most important players) could be back as well.

We were very good for 45 mins against Watford but have been pretty dire since. A good start is paramount if we're going to take anything IMO.

    Hennessey
    Tomkins Dann Delaney Ward
    McArthur Ledley
    Townsend Cabaye Puncheon
    Benteke
You'd expect Speroni and Remy to start on the bench but it'd be great if either were kept in from the start. The latter looked like our brightest spark in the cup on Saturday.

Just a quick on palace fans, who's more effective Zaha or Townsend? And why?

Zaha by a country mile. Streets ahead in terms of goals/assists and works much harder.

Townsend's been disappointing but I reckon he'll come good if used properly by BFS. A lot of our players looked short of confidence in the latter months under Pardew so if we can string a few wins together I think we'll start to see the best of of him, Cabaye, Benteke etc.

Zaha's failure at Utd obviously hit his confidence hard but he's been getting better and better ever since he re-joined.

He reminds me now of his time at Palace about 4 years ago when week in week out he was destroying Championship defenders, they just couldn't live with him. Now he's doing the same at the top level.

I like Townsend but he'll never be in the same league as Wilf talent-wise. I just can't see how we're going to keep hold of him this summer.

Well it doesn't look like Payet will be playing! He's thrown his toys out of the pram and said he doesn't want to play for West Ham anymore.

Along with their current form and the whole discontent around the stadium we really don't have a better chance of a result. Will be very disappointed if we don't take something.

1-0 Palace. Payet with the winner on his debut.

0-3 Benteke double and a debut goal from Remy off the bench.

    Then I woke up.

I've said it before on here, but bear in mind this is the same newspaper who claimed Liverpool fans urinated on their own at Hillsborough. If they can lie about that they can lie about anything (and usually do). I don't know why people still read it.

Unless we receive a £60m+ China bid there's no way we'll let him go. He's about our only hope up front.

You could lose the next 30 games and still not be somehow. Crazy.
