Still Franks best album.
This absolute masterpiece.
'Hey you. you got a cigarette man?'
I listened to "You Gotta Go There To Come Back" by Stereophonics earlier. Some top tunes on it.....and some very meh stuff
The Bends. Brilliant.
NF - The Search
I've said this before but he's brilliant. Love it
Manchester Orchestra - A Black Mile To The Surface
It's simply just the best album released this decade.
New Pixies album Beneath The Eyrie - 6/10
Big Pixies fan but admit their newer stuff doesn't really hold up to their previous brilliance. I place the blame with the production though, to be honest. Some of the best stuff on this album is the more stripped back, quirky and darker stuff - it almost enters Tom Waits territory. But then the album is laced with bland heavy guitar driven songs which would sit on almost any "alt rock" album these days.
They need to commit to the risks and the weirdness that made them so brilliant in the first place. And find a producer who is actually good for them (or just don't use one!)
Kanos new album. Banger.
Been listening to it - really like it but prefer Made in the Manor.
He's actually a really good actor too.
Watching him on top boy right now!
I do a lot of that as well but that doesn’t work with concept albums. I like quite a few concept albums.
And some albums are so good you have to listen to all of it
Been waiting for this for a while but finally got an album from Sam Fender and "Hypersonic Missiles" doesn't disappoint. A definite 9/10 for me
The Search - NF
My favorite rapper atm. His lyricism is another level.
Finished this earlier today, was ok, nothing on their earlier work like Above The Weeping World, but still pretty good. 3.5/5
The new Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds album 'Ghosteen' is beautiful.
He and Warren Ellis are absolute geniuses and put all of these mock songwriters around today to shame.
Next up a Grinderman album!
Mostly been listening to Father Of The Bride by Vampire Weekend, as I'm going to see them next month. Can't wait. Easily the best album I've heard this year.
Incredible record. I’ve got this and the new elbow record on a playlist and it’s getting worn out with all the playing
Lagwagon- Railer (2019)
Always really liked this band, but my respect for them went up when I saw them co-headline with The menzingers last year. A really solid skate album, it combines the raw energy of their first albums, with the more assured mature sound of their last album. Joey Cape is a god.
