It was pretty bad, you absolute tit.

Look online, you will not find one single review hailing it as "amazing".

    Good day.

I thought as modern horrors/thrillers go, The Mist was one of the better ones personally.

i'm glad to hear the last few posts. it wouldn't make a blind bit of difference if I read 100 online reviews which were bad. movies (like most forms of entertainment) are purely subjective.

being an astronomer, a philosopher and a historian I love stuff like this. loved the visuals, special effects, action sequences, the cinematography, loved the quirkiness of it, and being an amateur astronomer I loved a lot of the space/planetary shots/effects. heavily philosophical film struck a cord with me. made me wonder what it would be like if the world faced another cataclysmic event- which inevitably will happen at some stage in the future. assumably mankind will have the technology then to deal with it. hopefully so.
personally I find apocalyptic and/or post-apocalyptic themes to be very powerful. and I always love anything with a historical slant to it,

i'm looking at reviews now. it just seems to be mixed. some good, some bad. standard really. the world would be a boring place if everyone reasoned the same and had the same opinions.

    Gravity -8/10
stunning effects. enjoyable film but theres a limit to how good a film can be with only 2 actors in it. very good though

    Enders Game- 6/10
abit of a laugh. typical sci-fi epic I enjoy. but tbh I was bored for a lot of the film. the ending was decent enuff and the visuals were impressive so overall it was okay. Harrison ford was in it- always a good thing I guess.

    ....

A bit of hypocrisy there...? :whistle

Pretty much every single person who has seen it has said it was below average at best, I even overheard conversations after it ended, people saying "thank god that's over" "what a load of shit" "that was, quite frankly, a pile of pig w*nk"

I was a bit of a dick about it I'll admit reading back, I was trying to wind you up more than anything. To each their own I suppose though. Aren't you the guy that said Back to The Future was the best film of all time?!

    Anyway, whatever.

visionaries appreciate the film. i'm sure many won't enjoy it. its not easy viewing and for that reason i'm sure a lot of people will find it tough going. sometimes the best, most powerful films are the type that polarise rise. people either think their brilliant or shite.

BTTF2 is one of my fav films ever. classic. but i never said it was the best.
ifu don't like BTTF there really is no hope for you.

I thought the first film, whilst immaculately executed, was hugely overrated by many in terms of its actual quality as a film. I'm just not a huge fan of the high-concept B movie idea behind it.

But the sequel looks like it has more scope, which coupled with the superb direction and editing could well make for a top notch action movie. Might check it out.

I think this one was probably about 20 minutes too long at a running time of bang on 2 and a half hours. Much more stylish, colourful film with some quite beautiful cinematography at times. I can't quite put my finger on what I disliked about it but something's there.

One of my favourite action films. Brilliantly entertaining; I agree it was a little too long but it's one of the most original action films I've seen in a long time.

The car chase and the camerawork during was fantastic and I can't think of many films that have used similar tricks that this did. I can't really say what it was that annoyed me about this because it's kind of a spoiler.
Also, Yayan Ruhian was in both films! I know people like Jackie Chan etc use the same crew on different films but this was a sequel carrying on from the first film, with him playing a different dude! Not that I mind because he's a badass fighter.

Weird how the writer/director of an Indonesian martial arts movie is Welsh.

I have sympathy with your sentiments. The Raid was like watching someone else playing Mortal Kombat for what seemed like hours. :shrug
