    Hopefully it will be

    Gomes

    Nyom
    Angella
    Prodl
    Holebas

    Capoue
    Brehami
    Abdi

    Berghuis
    Jurado

    Arklauski
    Cathcart
    Parades
    *new DM*
    Murray
    Vydra
    Ighalo

Loaning out Bond and bringing in a foreign keeper was a real dumb move tbh. With so many new signings and a new manager who has never managed in the Prem I'm not expecting a flying start to the season, would take a draw in this.

I've just brought Ighalo for my PTG draft game. So he's not going to be first choice according to you boys.

If we go with one striker then no as Deeney is our captain.

If we go with 2 strikers then it could be Vydra who partners Deeney upfront (or a new signing).

So he's not going to make the step up, yet he out scored Vydra last season

He'll at least get a sub appearance first game (I think) and he might play instead of Vydra if we do play 2 forwards. They rotated around a bit last year and Ighalo was impossible to drop for a long period of time.

I expect Ighalo to play a good part in the season - although there is talk of him leaving so who knows.

I think at least one or two of the new guys will start on the bench and we keep in Gomes, Cathcart, Abdi and Deeney for some continuity. Bond is sold on a permanent contract, not loaned but you're right, there was some sense in keeping him as #2 given his nationality.

I don't think we need a third DM brought in, Watson or Layun can play there as experienced and adequate back up. Everton will at least be given a good game I feel and am hopeful we can upset the applecart from day one.

Ighalo's all round game is pretty poor. Not much of a team player really. He's a goal scorer, a predator in the box and that's it. Deeney & Vydra works better as a partnership than Deeney and Ighalo does. But saying all that, Ighalo is the best finisher at the club and better in the air than Deeney. If Deeney gets injured he'll be straight in plus I imagine he will come off the bench a lot, so he'll get game time for sure.

Watson is a CM not a DM. Layun is supposed to be a wing-back so would probably be rubbish as a DM in the Prem.

Harsh on Bond, Im sure he would have been fine staying with us as a second choice keeper in the Prem.

For me, Ighalo has to feature. You can't ignore his form.

I think we'll go 4-2-3-1 against Everton with Deeney up top.

    Gomes

    Holebas
    Prodl
    Angella
    Nyom

    Capoue
    Behrami

    Jurado
    Abdi
    Anya/Berghuis

    Deeney.
