What makes that worse for Thailand is it was a bunch of lads playing..
Not interested in it at all tbf, when I've seen the odd game in the past it's been utter dross, pub team football.
I wouldn't open the curtains if they were playing across the road.
There is a qualifying process just like in the men's World's Cup.
After humiliating the nations in their qualifying group with scores like 6-0 (they actually were in a 3 team qualifying group and they played 2 games), they got 2nd place in the Asian Cup group consisting of China, Jordan and Philippines, beating Jordan 6-1 and Philippines 3-1 which was enough. Imagine USA playing Jordan!
I would tap England's Number 3 and America have some pretty birds
. Expected a joke like that, tbh
And,again, expectable, from our zippy guy. So, let your curtains closed then.
Anyway, in an hour our ladies will play Spain. Unfortunately without Marozsan. She suffered a broken toe from the China match and will be out, at least for the whole group stage. I already wondered about her weak 2nd half against the Chinese, but she already had the toe broken at that stage. That's a big disadvantage for us. Lena Goeßling will be playing now.
USA are my favourites for the title. Not because of this 13-0 against the Thai Lady(s)(boys) (sorry, couldn't resist, either)
I'd hate to disappoint you !
The quality has certainly improved in the women's game in the last decade or so. I suppose it makes sense now that most if not all the top teams are filled with professionals these days. I've seen some good football in the matches so far.
Well it certainly couldn't have got worse let's face it.
My bets are on Germany!
The U S of A v Germany would be a good final, hard to choose who'd win.
Now the lady froglets have scored an own goal, to let Norway tie the match
But won in the end with another VAR penalty..
Some of the football is unbelievably shit for a World Cup
Do you watch women's club football? If not what are you comparing it to
Germany and France have almost qualified!
Watched a few of the highlights. Some good goals that the chaps would be chuffed with. The men have had over one hundred years head start to get to the level we see today so cut the women some slack. As time passes the standard will get better and better.
Some shit goalkeeping but then again even the men make a mess of a save.
say no more :-)
Went to Argentina/Japan on Monday and was a good crowd at the Parc des Princes. Off to Nice next Wednesday for Japan/England and got my ticket for our QF vs USA where we'll get dicked 0-3 as planned.
Enjoying the tournament tbh. Football's not great but those girls are living their dream. If you're into lower league stadia you get that and don't really care about the quality of the game. If all you want to see is watch slick, one-touch passing football, don't watch off-season tournaments and wait for the big leagues to start again.
Great result by the Aussie team, coming from 2-0 down.
And good to hear Sam Kerr's response to the whingers:
Aussie captain Sam Kerr after beating Brazil 3-2: "We don't listen
to the haters," said Kerr. "We came back from the deep."
Kerr, the all-time record goal scorer in both Australian and United
States leagues, added: "There were a lot of critics talking about
us, but we're back - so suck on that one."
Won with a very soff VAR goal given ..
Piece about how Brazil isn’t quite looked at the same way (mens and women’s) and what they might be facing
theBRKDWN Sports - The Brazilian Conundrum
they seem to struggle with having one star player to lean on, yet excel when the threats spread out. thoughts?
