The only saving grace of USA winning is that it proves how not needed Hope Solo is for the team.

And we only call it a good final when you're not in it ;) (only comeback I could think off as we don't know what reaching one is )

I was impressed with one German friend though! They proved to me that Germans are capable of smiling and on occasion provide a little chuckle at humour ;)

Went to Munich few years back, what a great place, people were really friendly too.

Goes to show perceptions can be so misleading.

and what a good comeback that is from you.

yeah, it is told these guys exist here, too. Haven't seen them yet, a bit like the Yeti myth ;)

Munich? Great place, unfortunately home of Bayern (and, once, zippy), too ;)

Absolutely. When I first came to the UK in the mid 80's I was astonished to see that not all Britains have a stiff upper lip and a stick up their arse (Stock im Arsch in German). That's what they told me here about you guys back then before my first visit ;)

I agree, Munich completely took me by surprise. The people were fantastic and the beer halls even better!

No idea why they made the decision to employ a drugs test failing violent giant woman who actually knows fackall about football?

Guess you not thinking about emigrating to USA then when we do Brexit....

Hope Solo was only ever a keeper because of her size....especially her fat head with flat ugly face.
We are all Dutch for the final aren't we?

The Bierkneller and Bavarian restaurant was excellent. Kings Square was also a good place to walk round.

What did they do? They're a dutch football team :D. I don't care if its the men or women teamThe reasons for my dislike of dutch football lies deep in my childhood, the World Cup 1974 in Germany. I was an 11 year old boy back then and totally fascinated when the best football nations came to Germany (and some even played in Hamburg) and had even great respect for the Holland team with Cruyff, Neskens, Jonny Rep etc.

But all that changed later when there were animosities from the Dutch before the match (the final) , and especially later. And in the years to come this rivalry went havoc, 4 years later the match at the World Cup 1978 was already a sign of bad things to come between the relation of Germany and Netherlands in a football match, culminating in the shameful Koeman incident at the Euro 1988 where he simulated to wipe his ass with the German shirt after they beat us and at the World Cup 1990 where Frank Rijkaard spitted at Rudi Völler.

I said in many times, I don't have anything against the Netherlands as a country, on the contrary.
My dislike is only football related and this is it for most German football fans. The dutch fans have also other reasons to dislike the German team or Germany in special (I bet you heard about it from the mentioned non-Germans fans ;) )

So, you'll never see me cheering for a dutch football team. I hope I clarified it for you, @TLC ;)

Netherlands in for a humiliation...No Van women can save them, only Virgil Van Dijk could. :eyemouth:

Judging by the posts there about Hope Solo (cool name btw), I think I prefer the Greek boring, formal commentator, who describes goal as they were goal kicks.

It dates back to the war, at least it does for the Dutch. Although over 25,000 Dutchmen did join the Waffen SS so really they should kiss and make up
