I got it. Only on a casual basis to begin with but it's regular work which for an old fella like me was all I could ask for and the money's pretty good so our life style will take a huge upturn.

    Thanks for asking, bud..

MS Amlin mainly, but I've also done some work for Fidelis. I've only been there 6 months though.

What broker do you work for?

Loads at our place budget for overtime. Last few years has been ridiculously ran, other departments being crap has a knock on affect for our department and we were getting 2 hours a day over time through no fault of our own. It was getting pathetic, office lot coming in at 9 and still getting home before us. Been up since 5am so it takes its toll.

Anyway they’ve sorted it now (processes mainly, had heads banged) and we’ve had 15 minutes over time all year and it’s been steady 8 hour shifts as well not working like a lunatic for 11 hours. Happiest I’ve been and it happens the year I’m finally leaving  they’re all gutted because on a Saturday 3 of them liked coming in for 5 hours over time rate pay to do 1 hours work and be home for 8am. I did it a couple of weeks and I didn’t lift a finger once on one of the Saturdays. Anyway they’re all skint, living week to week and apparently it’s the companies fault. Mad bastards.

I work for a small, independent broker, placing North American business into Lloyd’s. mainly commercial liability and property stuff but a few other bits and pieces aswell.

Have dealt with Amlin before but have very little written with them now, if anything at all.

Everyone has interesting job titles in fields which sound engaging.

I'm a Senior Program Manager in the Telecoms industry. I manage project managers and technical deployment teams for deliveries of Business Change.

It's stressful, annoying, dull and a political minefield.

I'm a chartered accountant but currently giving serious thoughts towards a career change. I have always wanted to be a lion tamer, and I am ready to make that leap.

    I sell aircraft parts.

In the past, I have been a postman, airport security, government security, male stripper, delivery driver and I have sold £1,200 vacuum cleaners.

I am more settled now, having been with my current employer for 12 years
