Safe to say we need a few signings to come in soon..

(This is ignoring the fact that we also have Chris Gunter, David Meyler, Garath McCleary, Adrian Popa, Jon Dadi Bodvarsson and Marc McNulty under contract. But none of them are taking part in our pre-season as we look to shift them on)

Goalkeepers - I'd imagine we'll probably sign another senior keeper if Jack Butland leaves, but so far nobody has matched the £20 million + asking price. Adam Davies looks like he's been lined up as a successor, but could start as number two if Butland is still here in August. Right now it's anyone's guess.
    GK) Jack Butland
    GK) Adam Davies
    GK) Adam Federici
    GK) Joe Bursik (U23)

Full back - I'm happy with both of these but we desperately need back up / alternatives too. Nathan Jones is insisting on playing a diamond formation next year so being strong in this area will either make or break the system. At a push Sam Clucas could cover left back.
    RB) Tom Edwards
    LB) Stephen Ward

Centre back - This feels like our strongest position. Nathan Collins (who has been linked with Man United) and Harry Souttar could end up going out on loan.
    CB) Ryan Shawcross
    CB) Danny Batth
    CB) Liam Lyndsay
    CB) Bruno Martins Indi
    CB) Nathan Collins (U23)
    CB) Harry Souttar (U23)

Midfielders / Wingers - Nathan Jones has spoken about Jordan Cousins - who he worked closely with at Charlton - being his main player at the base of the diamond. Badou Ndiaye's agent is desperate to get him a move out of the club (he spent last season on loan in Turkey) so this could free up a place for another defensive midfielder shortly. I don't know what's happening with Ryan Woods and nobody seems to want Joe Allen so he could end up staying. It doesn't look like we'll be using wingers next season so someone like Tom Ince could end up playing as a 'number 10' / cover for Nick Powell.
    DM) Jordan Cousins
    DM) Badou Ndiaye
    DM) Ryan Woods
    CM) Joe Allen
    CM) Peter Etebo
    CM) Sam Clucas
    CM) Lasse Sorensen (U23)
    AM) Nick Powell
    LM) James McLean
    RM) Tom Ince
    LW) Thibauld Verlinden (U23)

Forwards - I'm fairly happy with this although we could probably do with a fifth option. We're really gambling on Afobe coming good and Tyrese Campbell (Kevin's son) making the step up.
    ST) Sam Vokes
    ST) Lee Gregory
    ST) Benik Afobe
    ST) Tyrese Campbell (U23)

Dropped / Not training with the first team / Likely to leave / bomb squad etc.
    DR) Moritz Bauer
    DR) Josh Tymon
CB) Geoff Cameron - reports tonight that he's QPR bound
CB) Kevin Wimmer - currently training / on trial with Cologne
    CM) Giannelli Imbula - FFS
    ST) Julian Ngoy
ST) Bojan - currently training at Barcelona(!)
    ST) Mame Biram Diouf
ST) Saido Berahino - Still waiting to hear if we're sacking him / linked with Birmingham

We’re not in bad shape at the moment are we. Couple more additions would be great but even now I’m not worried.

In a ideal world I’d like to get rid of and upgrade upon Cavaré and Pinillos, bring in another defensive midfielder, and a couple of strikers. But I’m pretty happy with what we’ve got already.

You'll do well to move most of them on given the wages they'll be on.

Hefele won't be sold imo, probably your best CB.

Why has Bojan never been given a game at this level?

The thing I find interesting about Bojan is that it's not just one manager who's refused to play him. Makes me wonder if he's got an attitude problem or whether he was a bit of a one season wonder and isn't actually as good as people think.

Wasn't there some issue with his health a season or two back?

I've only just recovered from having to watch Tommy Rowe playing left back. Horrific.

    Swansea squad.

    Goalys-Nordfellt, Mulder, Benda

    Full backs-Roberts, Naughton, Birdwell,John.

    Centre Halves-VDH, Rodon, Harries, Cabango.

    Midfield-Grimes, Fulton, Byers, Celina, Carroll.

    Wingers-Dyer, Routledge, McKay, Asoro,Garrick

    Strikers-Mcburnie, Baker-Richardson.

Taking into account the Ayews and Baston won't be here. We could really do with a centre halve and a centre forward.

You're right on the manager front. Mark Hughes, Paul Lambert, Gary Rowett and now Nathan Jones have either dropped him or sent him out on loan. I do think he deserved more playing time last season, but at the same time he's also massively overhyped by some of our supporters which does him no favours. There's rarely any 'middle ground' when trying to have a conversation about Bojan on our message board.

The most damning thing for me is we've got a player who was once described as Messi's successor when he broke through at Barcelona over a decade ago, but no other manager in world football wants to take a chance on him either. He's still only 28 and should be at his peak, yet he's rotting away at Stoke. There's definitely something wrong there.

Those in Brackets are U21 who may get a chance in the 1st team this season
    GK: Bettinelli (Rodak) Fabri
    RB: Christie Odoi (S.Sessegnon Fossey)
CB: Mawson Le Marchand Ream (Jenz Opoku)
    LB: Bryan
    CM: Angussia McDonald (Edun)
AM: Cairney Johansen Seri (O'Riley De La Torre)
    W: Ayite Kebano R.Sessegnon
    ST: Mitrovic Kamara Fonte

Haven't included Ibrahima Cisse whose played 2 games since signing in 2017
Haven't included 16 year old Harvey Elliott who seems to be on his way to Liverpool or Real Madrid.
Possibilty of both Seri & Ryan Sessegnon leaving also keeper Fabri, may be both Fonte & Kamara will be sold or loaned out if we get replacements.

All of which means we need to strengthen our defence and midfield unless we relie on bringing in U21 players.

    How's Pinillos for you?

I always thought he was a good player and it was such a shame when he did his ACL.
