Wow , squad of 36 & of those Saturdays starters 9 were McCann signings , no excuses really . Has the dressing room gone ? Has Cliff ' Pitbull ' Bryne been upsetting the playing & work staff ? They've had 2 windows , everyone deserves 3 , if next December you're still doing shit then adiós to the pair of them , he'll probably sign his Son Baylee McCann from Barnsley in the Summer , you heard it here first
Do you purposely ignore everything other than McCann’s deficiencies ? I appreciate from an outside point of view he should be getting more from the squad. But we could replace him tomorrow and still continue to go backwards, whole club’s a mess
Decent result yesterday. Average performance but Adelakun has done pretty well since joining, would like to see him come in permanently
Depending on who of the top 5 bottle it, could be a belting league next season, plenty of local teams
Although third place and the playoffs look wide open, I'd be surprised if the present top two aren't in those positions come the end of the season based on what I've seen. I just hope we can somehow scrape enough points together to remain above the dreaded lower line.
Football's a funny game isn't it. Wrexham fail to score at home for the first time in 52 games as we win 1-0. First win in 8. Hopefully it kick starts a run and we can climb the table, however you just know that with two home games this week we will come out with 1 point and be back in 18th.
Yep part of me wants the Stockport, Mansfield, Wrexham lot out the league to give us a decent crack at it next season, but they would probably also be 3 of our biggest games so swings and roundabouts. Probably just about prefer the former to happen, as it makes things a lot more wide open with some of the big spenders out of the way.
I can see the logic of that and, if we do manage to get ourselves out of trouble, I'll probably be agreeing with it. But assuming we don't get a Reading or Charlton dropping down, which certainly can't be ruled out at the moment, I can well imagine Bradford, MK Dons, Notts County and Salford being installed as the automatic bookies' favourites before you even start to consider the eight or ten other teams who you could have made decent arguments for being in the mix before a ball was kicked last August. I think most sensible fans, regardless of their team, realised it was going to be much harder in this division this season than it was last and I don't see that being much different next term either.
Shocking our game called off for waterlogged pitch.. so tinpot. Feel especially bad for all the Grimsby fans making the trip.
An earlier call would clearly have been better, but I don't actually think the postponement was a bad thing for us. There certainly seemed to be a feeling after Saturday of this being a potentially defining week for us with you and Doncaster to play and the reverse fixtures having sealed Paul Hurst's fate back in the autumn. But with not that many free Tuesdays available after next week, what was already a big game could be absolutely massive when it actually is played.
Donny face Grimsby next. Have to say I was disappointed we didn’t sign Danny Rose as I have great respect for him. But I do think Ironside and Adelakun will win the match for Donny. Donny won't threaten the top 7 but I do think we are in the ascendency. It will be an interesting end of season watching what happens with Wrexham and Notts County. Early season assumptions by the bookies were that both would go up. Neither look like being in the top 3 now and Wrexham’s form is slipping. The playoffs are a tough place to be where MK Dons and Barrow won’t just roll over for them. There’s still a lot of possibilities who will be in the playoffs as there are a lot of teams just one or two points below.
