A - He will win trophies with Bayern.

B - Yes. He would never go to Bayern and Bayern fans would never accept him, that doesn't mean we don't respect him.

Ah, I know you are rivals, didn't think it was that "heated" as in not wanting ex managers and stuff? Always looked on it as a Liverpool/Arsenal or Spurs type rivalry.

Is there ever any trouble between the two sets of fans?

It's a big rivalry but I've never seen much trouble and I've been to loads, home and away.

From 2 points to 8 in 8 days :smokin: :D

If Leverkusen won't do it now and win their first ever German Championship in 120 years of existence "dann falle ich vom Glauben ab" ( maybe "then I fall away from faith"?).

It has never been happened before in the Bundesliga that a club who was 8 points ahead after 22 matchdays didn't win the title after 34!

He will. The "Torjägerkanone" e.g from this guy below (he already has 9 goals more scored than Füllkrug last season, with 12 still to play)

Dortmund's archrival is Schalke, not Bayern.

btw: Tuchel was also Dortmund Coach before and Ottmar Hitzfeld, too. So it's not a "no go" per se. But I don't think that Klopp would do it. He will become Bundestrainer...Jawoll :D

edit: kicker.de just announced that HSV hired Coach Steffen Baumgart today. At last!

"1.Bundesliga, wir kommen! " ;) (if not this season then next one :whistle)

Im zweiten Anlauf: HSV-Fan Baumgart kommt

I've also seen Steve Bruce linked with the South Korea job today, so I'm just guessing April Fools gets moved 6 weeks early on a leap year.

I just read this on kicker.de. I'm deeply shocked here. Andi was one of my hometown heroes. Born in Hamburg and only 2 years older than me. He played as a kid for HSV Barmbeck Uhlenhorst. Although he never played for the "big" HSV he was a "Hamburger Jung'" through and through.

It is said it was a cardiac arrest :( In his time one of the best defender in the world. Vice World Champion 1986 and World Champion 1990 where he scored the deciding penalty.
86 caps for Germany, which was a lot back in the days.

Played in the Bundesliga for Kaiserslautern and Bayern, in Italy for Inter and in Spain for Real Saragossa

Only a few weeks after the Kaiser, German football lost another one of the great 1990 World Cup team.

Rest in Peace, Andi :( You'll never be forgotten here. Legend!

That Holland Germany game in San Siro was mental, I was 12 year old and it all happens only a year after David Hasslehoff reunited Germany.

Absolutely mental that match. The rivalry was at the peak in those years. Imagine the celebrations here when we beat the Dutch.

btw: Andi Brehme also scored the 1-0 in the England match ;)

re: David Hasselhoff  Thx for bringing a smile on my face on this sad day. Hasselhoff in his "glowing leather jacket" in front of the Brandenburger Tor. Never seen anything more ridiculous ;)

I can't believe Andy Brehme is gone, at only 63 years of age. Another great player passes on. RIP.

Unfortunately, I was too young to see him play properly, but I was always knew how highly rated he was and I saw several fantastic highlights, such as the one posted by Dirk.

    Here some more of Brehme.

I'm glad that I could see him live. He was brilliant with his left and right foot, (e.g at the World Cup 1986 against Mexico he shot a penalty with left and in 1990 in the Final with right).

Unforgotten also the after match scenes at the last matchday of the 1995/96 season when he stood there arm in arm with Rudi Völler (who played for the opponent Bayer Leverkusen) and Andi was in tears because Kaiserslautern was relegated to 2.Bundesliga.
Next season he brought FCK back into the 1.Bundesliga as Captain and they won the Bundesliga title in the following season (in this season he played still a few matches and ended his career with this highlight).

Only time in Bundesliga history that a promoted club won the Bundesliga title in the first season in the top tier.

Just read at kicker.de that Argentina's 1990 World Cup Goalkeeper Sergio Goycochea appreciated Andi Brehme as "Hero of the World Cup"

Torwart Goycochea würdigt Brehme als "Helden der WM"

Inter Milan played Tuesday's CL match against Atletico Madrid with a black ribbon in honour of Brehme.

    -------------

It's so sad that Andi could never play for his hometown club HSV. He wanted it and was even at a trial here but unfortunately at that time (early 80s) the HSV was filled with great players and had its best decade in history and so (maybe) the HSV management failed to notice the great talent.
So he went to Saarbrücken instead in the 2.Bundesliga and then to Kaiserslautern in the 1.Bundesliga. And later he was unaffordable for HSV. A pity

Baumgart is a great appointment. Hopefully this is the season you finally get promotion. I cannot get over how long you’ve been in Zwei.

First I thought: "Sky Germany? And why are they speaking English?" until I realized ;)

Tuchel not out yet but in the summer?
He has to "fulfill his mission", getting a "no trophy season" for Bayern?

And this although ex HSV coach Tim Walter is available. Better hire him immediately before the other top clubs are going after him:laugh:

Great first press conference from him yesterday. Baumgart is a HSV fan since his youth he often communicated it and said yesterday " You change your wife more often than your club" :D
(HSV press officer then gave him the tip to call his wife immediately after the press conference and before the first training :D )

We wanted to get him 2 1/2 years ago when he left Paderborn but he was already far with contract talks at Köln. He was my most wanted coach of those available (2nd was Dirk Schuster). He has shown always great commitment wherever he coached (brought Paderborn from 3.Liga to 1.Bundesliga and Köln in his first season in the European Conference league and at 11th place in his 2nd season. He wasn't sacked but left "on mutual agreement" after this season it went wrong from the beginning to give the club the chance to get new impulses from another coach). Great motivator and a nice chap. I bet his "Schiebermütze" will soon be available in the HSV fan shop, too :D

edit: Schiebermütze=flat cap (just looked it up ;) )

The only reason Tuchel is possibly staying until summer is that Bayern are after someone who is currently unavailable.
