Didn't find the game particularly entertaining to watch despite the scoreline and the goals. Thought the keepers were relatively underworked and that Bayern had to dig deep to make things happen. They really don't look like a threatening side going forward.
Tuchel's line-up was shocking: Kimmich RB and Musiala LW is just asking for trouble. You could tell Bayern were struggling in midfield and having Kimmich there would have changed so much. Instead you had headless chicken getting outmuscle by Freiburg (not a fan of Pavloc and oh where, oh where has my Goretzka gone?).

Not sure which season you're watching. Kimmich has not stabilized anything in our central midfield in years. His shielding is poor, and he doesn't have the technical ability to compensate for it. As a consequence, he loses possession too easily. He doesn't remain in a central defensive midfield position, which creates holes for our opponents to exploit. His corners are also rubbish. Vastly overrated player. Yes, he was once good, several years ago.

Pavlovic has done quite well, especially when you consider his age. He basically walked into the first team and remained composed and delivered. His corners and freekick quality have so far outclassed Kimmich's. He has not lost possession frequently and looks quite comfortable on the ball. Great prospect, my opinion.

Kimmich hasn't had the best of seasons I'll give you that but reckon he's still a presence in the side and needed in that midfield. Putting him at RB surely isn't the solution. Pavlovic just looks like a meh player to me. Yeah sure he's composed but don't think he does much else.

I'll take your word for it though. I enjoy watching Bundesliga in general but Bayern always irks me because they usually always win. This season looks different. A part of me hopes we have a real title race in our hands but a Leverkusen win at Köln this afternoon would be basically land them the title.

Then you're better than me, Adz ;)

As a fan of PSG this isn't uncommon to you, is it?

As was already last season where they got the title thanks to a last minute goal in the last match (similar like in 2000 and 2001) and Borussia Dortmund's massive bottle job in their last home match

Wouldn't that be great for a guy with the Bayer Leverkusen Crest as Avatar? ;)

Tbh I can do without a tight title race this season when Bayern is involved (as hunter) because most likely they win those title races (see the mentioned 3 seasons). If it were another club (like Stuttgart, Dortmund etc..) I'd be all for a tight title race but not with Bayern involved ;) ( but tbh I have a mixed gut feeling about today's Rhein Derby against the Neighbour, hopefully it's only flatulences )

    **************
Anyway, more important for me is our home match in 2 hours. In 1 hour I'll be on my way to the Volkspark, so maybe you won't hear from me again if we lose this match, after nearly all other of the top teams played for us this weekend (if you remember what I wrote in my last post) .

Fingers crossed :hopefully for a HSV win. Yes, I know we play against the last placed team but we often had problems against those relegation bound teams :ohnoes

I don't particularly enjoy our change in fortunes since 2011. First, we just buy star players who mostly join for the money (this has always been the case btw even we were finishing 9th) and second, the type of fans has changed too. ST used to cost 200€ per season, now it's 1200€ so of course you need a certain amount of cash to afford that (even though you can easitly make money with your ST by selling the big games). We used to have two respected supporters club behind each goal, now we only have one and when they go on strike (we tend to do that in this country) then you can hear a pin drop in the ground!
Also, getting CL football without even trying means that the rivalry with Marseille is dead which is why I prefer to sell my seat rather than attend (last classico I went to was 2012).
Like the saying goes, money doesn't bring happiness.

Bayer 2-0 up at Köln. Good.

Leverkusen have done so well without Boniface, supposed to be another month out. Coulda easy derailed their season.
10 points difference now. Good luck with that. ;)

You have to  ( Ein Kölsches Sprichwort " Mer muss och jünne künne" )

    HSV in a nutshell :smackhead
I bloody knew it, penalty in the 89th minute (with one man more). Unbelievable, the big chance to jump on a direct promotion place....gone again.
And the win isn't even undeserved for Osnabrück. Last week they won at #5 Hannover 96 with 1-0 and now with 2-1 at #3 HSV. 3 wins all season so far and 2 of them against HSV. :enditall

Anyway, still 10 matches to play, we're still #3 and only 2 pts away from direct promotion. Nothing is lost for now!

    edit:

    At the end:

I'm more and more convinced that my favourite teams in Football, HSV and the German Nationalmannschaft, are cursed since I joined this forum and post about them. ;)

    Proof:

Before I joined End of July 2016 :
Germany was World Champion and was just in the semi-final of the Euro 2016.
HSV was the "Dino" of the 1.Bundesliga, only team who always played in the top tier since its inception

    Since I joined:
Germany played 2 bad World Cups where they couldn't get out of the group stage (first time ever) and played also a mediocre Euro 2021.
HSV was relegated for the 1st time ever in 2018 and so far couldn't come back

I wasn't superstitious before but this makes me think ;)

I'll take a break now, maybe this will "break" the curse or I simply don't write about HSV anymore until the season is over so I can't jinx any future matches. Same for the German Nationalteam.

This should be enough for HSV winning promotion and Germany becoming Euro Champion 2024

Gute Nacht und Tschüss (at least for a while) :bye :coat

Sky are reporting than Bayern are having talks with Alonso to take over from Tuchel in the Summer ?

I thought he'd have taken over from Anchelotti at Madrid if the Italian takes the Brazilian national job .

Harry Kane, looked at Bayern and must have thought "yeah, safest bet for a League title or some kind of trophy, I'm off"...

Isn't it official that Ancelotti is not taking the Brazil coach job or am I thinking about something else?

It's not quite that simple though. Bayern are a massive club with immense history. Currently, they're supposed to be capable of challenging for the Champions' League title, in addition to the Bundesliga. It won't happen this year, but next year, there's little reason to suggest Bayern won't have that same ability to achieve this.

Bayern don't judge their performance solely on the Bundesliga, as the performance in the Champions' League is basically equally important.

No, it is as simple as that, Bayern have not had a domestic trophyless season for what? 13 seasons? Since 2011 (your last trophyless season). Kane joins you to win silverware...you win nothing, thats why fans of other clubs are taking the piss.

NO, Im not saying he won't win something next season or the next...on the otherhand he may leave, next manager may not fancy him? But as of now, he's not won nothing with you. So he's trophy jinxed.

Getting a bit tired of this Kane-related mockery. It's not like he's to blame if Bayern don't win a thing this season. It's funny I get it but it's getting on a bit now.

You'd probs be the same with an ex what? Marseille player? Think you're a PSG fan right?

With Ancelotti's alleged charges in Spain re tax to skip across overseas to Brazil might look like a good option for him , he's already at the pinnacle of his managerial abilities domestically with RM & Brazil arguably Is the pinnacle Internationally & i think they're ranked behind Argentina at present , would be a good & new challenge for him .
