Salah's appearance last night is massive, I had him down as not playing in this. Kelleher has done really well in recent weeks, but Ali is still a big miss for a game like this. We really need the likes of Mac, Virg and Konate to be on their game. We play our best I reckon we win it but my money is on a tight score draw. 2-2
Get out of Liverpool without a defeat and I'll take it with 10 games to go, we are due a win there and we should've won at Etihad but you win with goals, think Kovacic will come in for this one. Ederson Walker Dias Stones Ake Rodri Kovacic Silva KDB Foden Haaland
For the risk of going strong last night, in the end it worked. Konate is a fear, but not ruled out. They won the game 5-1 and so the focus is now completely on this game and the FA Cup game at Old Trafford before the international break. Knowing this they can afford to go strong with the returning players free to start. Kelleher Bradley Konate/Gomez VVD Robertson Szobo Endo Mac Salah Nunez Diaz I do feel bad for Elliott, who maybe deserves a start given his recent form, but he has also been playing a lot of football and so having him start on the bench and letting Szoboszlai start makes sense to me. Give Szobo 60 mins then swap them. I'd be tempted to have Gomez start at RB over Bradley if Konate is fit to start.
Not really, draw puts leaves Arsenal on top when they beat Brentford People seem to keep ruling Arsenal out.
Still yet to see Arsenal ruled out since they beat Liverpool at the Emirates. They're probably seen as the least likely right now due to the fact they are 3rd.
It's really frustrating how we've had best GD for majority of season and Arsenal pulled it back and overtook us in last couple weeks. +6 more. Can see them smashing Brentford as well so it'll only increase. As for the game fully fit or near enough Liverpool team beats Man City at Anfield most times. Even with the injuries and playing last night and the cheats being at full strength I am still confident of getting a result. Just don't know if it'll be all 3 points. But I agree with @Muller IF we win we'll go onto win title. Such a big game..... Seen the Yeti has done some mouthing off about us really hope the mug doesn't score . Game prediction: 1-1.
Yeah Trent did an interview and made a comment about Liverpool winning things meaning more, and as far as I've seen about 3 City players have reacted to it going on about the treble. Lol guy isn't even playing and he's got them all worked up. Fair play.
I would be happy with a draw. But that still keeps City on our back, who for me remain the biggest contender(even if they lose this game). Arsenal have some tough away games later. To be fair he was asked an awkward question, & did well with that response. Pep kinda avoided answering the same question.
Just hope Konate is fully fit, as good as Quansah has been, I want Konate there dealing with these. Midfield should be pretty much as strong as we can put out barring Jones. Front three of Salah, Nunez and Diaz are enough to worry anyone. Gakpo hasnt done anything to earn a starting place and Elliott needs a break, looked tired last night, lads worked his bollocks off whilst we've been decimated with injuries. At right back, do we go with the impressive Bradley? Or the experience of Gomez? Kelleher Bradley/Gomez---Konate---VVD---Robertson Szoboszlai---Endo---Mac Allister Salah---Nunez---Diaz
For the few that are doing that, it's understandable. We need Liverpool to drop points and we need to go to the Etihad and probably win. The scepticism is warranted. Anyway, on this game. City will never have a better chance to beat Liverpool in front of their own fans. No Alisson, no Konate (?), No Trent, a half fit Salah....I know it's still Liverpool but you're still City. And it's also super Hulk Hogan end of the season City. Obviously I want a draw. But a draw is the result that doesn't suit either of the sides playing because of our presence so we'll have to see. I have a dream of it still being level with ten minutes to go and seeing both sides completely throw caution to the wind What I do not want to see is a Liverpool win. Sorry guys A draw or a City win puts our fate in our own hands (on the basis we beat Brentford) whereas a Liverpool win still leaves us needing a slip up from the them.
Stunned if Klopp starts Gakpo tbh, only way I see that happening it if Nunez picked up a knock. Gakpo played 90 in Prague on Thursday, and 84 minutes in the Forest game.
I'd take a draw and stay ahead of City then we probably return to the top of the table after the City Arsenal game. If Arsenal can beat City away they deserve to win the title, but a draw or City win are more likely. Obviously a win is prefarble but we're limping into this game, while City are full strength. A draw would be a good result in the circumstances. I reckon Gakpo starts as he knits things together and Mo isblacking fitness, he's been poor lately though so it wouldn't be ideal.
I am not sure about this narrative being built that this represents City's best chance at winning at Anfield with fans in under Klopp. I get the injuries argument but ultimately Liverpool are still a side in form right now. I'd say this fixture last season represented a bigger chance for City given Liverpool went into it bang out of form. Liverpool were 10th in the league at the time, and City were undefeated going in.
