It's a shame Klopp isn't going to get to carry these young players forward.

Yeah... To do his defensive duties is one thing, but marauding through the centre of the pitch Matip style is another. That shows the confidence Klopp and VvD have instilled in him.

Quansah, Bradley and Danns the 3 standouts from the academy's current crop so far for me. Obviously Clark etc looking good too.

If Liverpool dont win the league it will be because Luiz Diaz, Darwin Nunez & Diogo Jota cannot finish.

If Liverpool dont win the league it will be because we didnt turn up at Arsenal, that one game truly pisses me off this season.

As for Jota can't finish? Do you even watch football ffs? He's the best finisher at the club.

    The WUM’s get worse

I am completely convinced had Jota played yesterday we’d have won by a few. Missed him massively yesterday.

Was that actually on live? Cant remember...back in the days we'd only get 2 live games all season haha. FA Cup and European Cup Finals...damn, I miss those days. When football was a proper working class sport.

Or by then had they started showing League Cup Finals and stuff? think they had hadn't they?

Tears actually came to my eyes at the end of that game...given all the circumstances :(

Yeah it was 2 week after end of season as I'm guessing you were supposed to play Arsenal when you played rescheduled Hillsborough game (my 11th birthday 7th May) had a party at Wimpy haha and home to watch Liverpool beat Forest in SF on TV (think Liverpool wore white and Aldridge scored at Stretford end)

I started watching City in 85 at 7 so first TV football memories were

League West Ham 2 United 1 on a Sunday when we rarely got top flight games (old man was a rag)

Fa Cup 1985 United beat Everton

    League cup Oxford 3 QPR 0 1986

European cup Juve Liverpool 85, as a kid in shock watching the scenes

UEFA cup Gothenburg 3 Dundee Utd 2 1987

    CWC Everton Vienna 3 1

Yeah I think they had started showing a few more as the 80s went on. I know the early 80s when we got to 4 League Cup Finals none of them were live as far as I can recall, I was at 3 of them and the other v West Ham I had to listen to on the radio.

UEFA and CWC Finals were not live either early 80s.

Ever remember C4 putting live Brazil games on during the night? man we were all chuffed to bits  these days I wouldnt watch a Brazilian league game if you paid me, they're crap.

Just edited it as United beat Everton in 85 (Kevin Moran etc) stopped Everton winning a poor mans treble

Euro finals more shown when English/Scottish teams made final.

Alison Rudd on the Game (Sunday Times) podcast said it should have been an indirect FK to Liverpool, which I thought was a left-field, but interesting, take. She's a Liverpool fan, too, for whatever that's worth.

Only just realised, well read someone saying it actually, the Doku challenge. If its not a pen for the kick in the chest, wheres the pen for the handball, ball bounces off Mac Allisters chest onto Doku's hands which are up in the air and clearly not in a natural position :hmmm

I remember listening to the Liverpool game when they played United in 1983. The Ronnie Whelan goal is a brilliant strike from just outside the area. As you said we didn't have live coverage back then.

Its a shame Pep is leaving, with such a young side he has, it would have been so interesting to see what he would have done with these young players.
