Hopefully alternate days. Women's football tend to get a lot more Sunday fixtures and Arsenal are currently scheduled to play on the Saturday. Possibly dependent on Villa's European commitments though.
Manchester United v Chelsea Tottenham v Leicester. Massive opportunity for the latter two to reach their first FA Cup final. Hopefully United can win the other semi.
Someone will be in trouble! WSL: Kick-off delayed as Chelsea host title rivals Arsenal at Stamford Bridge
The physical difference between these two sides is incredible. Chelsea look faster, stronger and fitter. This is epitomised by Lauren James. She's treated the Arsenal defenders like children.
Women's Super League: Attendance record for a WSL season broken with 36 games left - BBC Sport A bit skewed by Arsenal's popularity, I think their games account for more than 50% of those numbers but WSL numbers continue to rise. Arsenal league games average crowds of 32,986 but they're still playing a good number of games in stadiums well below that capacity. Clubs & the WSL need to find a way for the main stadiums to be used more consistently. There's still some big games to come this season so it'll be interesting to see if they surpass 1 million or not this season.
Perhaps not but when you're averaging attendances of 32,000 over a season you could argue the demand is there. The average is only that low because of where games have been played too. Arsenal well ahead of the curve. I don't think any other WSL club could justify playing in bigger stadiums every week but if they want to keep growing WSL crowds it probably needs to happen more frequently.
Brighton are actually trying to build their woman’s team a dedicated stadium, which I believe would be the first in the country. Obviously that’s not an ideal solution for everyone, but it’ll definitely help us out. We don’t get anywhere enough to make The Amex work (and there’s a limit on events there anyway I believe) but Crawley is an absolutely horendous option too.
I think City probably have the closest thing to a women's stadium with their own academy stadium but again, capacity is limited. Most WSL clubs probably can't justify playing in the main men's stadium every week but playing so far out of town also isn't ideal. The London clubs have a lot of professional clubs on their doorstep so it's a luckier city than most but some of the other WSL clubs could really do with somewhere closer to home to play.
Noticed they want VAR in the WSL at a time when people want it out of the Men’s game ! West Ham boss Skinner 'sick' of wrong decisions
‘Horrible’ Joey Barton comments and online abuse of 17-year-old female goalkeeper branded ‘bullying’ (msn.com) Might not seem serious, but serial arsehole Barton's misogyny is never far from the surface is it? You would think he'd learn after the previous furore? He might just have screwed up this time making a 7 time world kickboxing champion mad? Let's hope he meets the little tit soon.
Worrying to read about: If you're just joining us, there has been some concerning scenes at Molineux as Arsenal midfielder Frida Maanum collapsed off the ball in stoppage time of normal time. Paramedics and club's medical staff were alerted to the situation and treated Maanum on the pitch for several minutes before she was taken off on a stretcher. The game was 0-0 at the end of normal time and we have just entered into extra-time. BBC Sport have been told Frida Maanum is stable and being looked after.
