Think that's the last of him in a Worthing top. Wouldn't be surprised if something is in the pipeline already.
Braintree is the biggest shithole ever. And I go to Aldershot every other week!!! Been there several times. They have a pub 100yds from the ground and they are not even aware they are playing!! Bring 30 fans away. They can **** right off. Typical Essex non league team. I'm not going back.
Proud. missing out in the National League hurts like f*ck but it it’s been amazing to finally see the town realise what it has football wise. For those unaware our chairman is a former youth team player who was paralysed in a car crash and used his compo money to fund a club that was in danger of not existing. At least we don’t have to hear people moan about the away end when we’ve only had an away end for 4 games
Does feel like going back in time, when looking at the surroundings of Cressing Road. That they play up to the pub team in Essex mantra is incredibly tinpot. Should be the Oxford City replacement if they play like that.
Delighted for Braintree but, having read about George Dowell's story when Worthing reached the first round proper of the FA Cup this season, I hope today isn't an end for them but more a motivation to go again come August.
Anyway, f*ck Braintree, I was the first person to lift the trophy so see you all next year after my personal promotion
A few of my close mates went to school with George, from what they’ve said I think he’ll cope with the setback quite well and regroup. We’ll lose a few players in the summer; Ollie Pearce for sure, Joe Felix & Danny Cadhman probably too. However this is a team who had only had two years at NLS it’ll probably do us some good to continue to grow here. Hopefully Glen Rea is in the right headspace to come back too, he’d be comfortably the best player in the league if he does. The main positive from today would be hopefully the town is now fully awake to the team they have on the doorstep; pushing that average crowd from 1500 to closer to 2000 will be a massive boost. Worthing is the biggest town in England to never have a professional sports team. The potential is massive. Roll on next year I guess.
After visiting some of the grounds the last few years it really can't be any worse. Just nice to have a nearby game as well, although no doubt it will be at Boxing Day
Southend fans already getting excited about a chance to outnumber some home support next season, good to see.
