I've repeatedly said over the years that no English club should be losing to a side that isn't from England, Spain, Italy or Germany (PSG maybe the exception to that rule). Really disappointing way for them to exit. Well beaten too which is probably the more surprising thing. 6-2 is insane given the gulf in resources.
Exactly my opinion, @Jason. Refreshing to see that a side from Greece is in the final. Tbh in my opinion this ECL should be for the clubs outside the Top4 leagues. Won't happen, though. But at least with Olympiakos we have a club from a smaller league in the final.
Today's the Conference Final. Fingers crossed for Olympiakos. We don't need another Italian club to win a European trophy this season
Looking forward to tonight's game and yes I'm also cheering on Olympiacos too Even if I think Fiorentina may just prove that little bit too strong. Hello again to everyone. Been away a while but promise to stick around a bit more now
In case anyone wants some pre match reading, I write a newsletter and did the latest episode of it on the Conference League and what should happen to the competition going forward. Feel free to check it out here and appreciate any feedback Mandatory Maintenance in a Changing Competition
But tentative as the half went on. Felt the game started well mind. Olympaicos need to get El Kaabi in the game more. Credit to Fiorentina's CB partnership though who have dealt with him well so far. Hope the game doesn't drift 2nd half as it had some promise at start of first half
Also Olympiacos feeling the tension too as how many more Greek sides will get a chance at a European trophy? Quality from both sides in final third has been lacking tonight
