Wouldn't wish any club to go out of business but if they overspend and don't live within their means there should be tougher punishments.
No-one has mentioned us. I'm quite proud, we're clearly one of the teams to beat Whilst I wouldn't like a team to go out of business, if they were replaced with other clubs from different divisions I wouldn't miss: 1. Tranmere 2. Colchester 3. Crawley I was going to offer a reason why I've chosen each, but I care that little about them that I can't be bothered.
Think that says more about your footballing aility to be honest! Wouldnt wish going out of business on anyone, even them lot down the road (well maybe a bit)
There is no one in this league for me, the only club that I really don't give a stuff about is Chesterfield and they are League 2. There are some great football clubs in this division, every week the Fixture looks decent on paper.
It saddens me just the thought of ANY team struggling to survive and I certainly don't wish it on anyone. Colchester United, for instance, was my first away game over 50 years ago and I can remember it as if it were yesterday. They also beat the great Leeds team in the cup so I take my hat off to them ...
It very much depends on what you define as insignificant - for me it means clubs that are irrelevant or of no interest to you - for me this is not teams that are likely to go bust (i.e. Coventry), have manager's you don't like (us) etc as these are things that are clearly of interest even in a negative way. People have also mentioned Stevenage and Crawley, but they have still have a bit of non league novelty for me and the association with Evans makes Crawley interesting. The three teams that standout as ones that I have the least interest, feeling (positive or negative) to me and are of general irrelevance are: Walsall, Oldham and Crewe. Natural irrelevances of Shrewsbury just about stayed out due to the interest of the playoff and 0-7 games we had v them a few seasons back and Port Vale and Rotherham stay out because of our interesting promotion battle with them last seaso and their respective managers who we love/hate; Col U stay out as they are Essex and despite not giving too hoots about them, we hate Essex, plus they have Joe Dunne.
Would be very interesting that. Granted we've been boring in recent years under Boothroyd and Ward, but we're not a boring club and it seems to be most people's reason for us being so - understandably to be fair - that we have an incredibly dull, soulless dump of a stadium.
This - I don't understand how a club can be irrelevant or insignificant. We all make jokes about tinpot tiny clubs with 100 fans, clubs from small backwater towns or clubs with 'temporary' away ends made of scaffolding that have been up for over 10 years... but in all seriousness no club is insignificant that entertains, gives fans something to shout about and plays football for us to watch on Saturdays. Being a 'smaller' club like Stevenage for example doesn't mean jack all in terms of significance (unless you're a Bradford fan who believes anybody with a ground smaller than 20,000 capacity can go whistle). Plenty of genuine ammo to take the p*ss out of each others' teams but I think insignificance isn't a valid criticism, plus as others have said, going out of business or the risk thereof is not a fun experience
I've seen plenty of angry dancing bananas in my lifetime. I even woke up next to one after one dodgy night out
