Wow, thanks for the warm welcome...

I expected this. We're a village team with a population that wouldn't fill 20% of the Ricoh Arena, historically bigger clubs are going to hate the fact we have a bit of money and are trying to bring something new to the football with the sustainability vegan approach. Our owner, unlike the Rushden & Diamonds and Darlington ones, is really in it for the long haul and hey, if he does go we'll drop back to the level we spent most of our existence in the local gloucestershire leagues. We did amazingly to get to the conference on no budget and stayed there on no budget for years and years, perhaps we've earnt our shot at something more.

Ah well. It's not exactly important, only important thing is the football and I'm hopeful we'll do ok, survive and have a lot of fun in our first season here. Hell, we might even finish above Cheltenham. Absolutely cannot wait for derbies with Cheltenham and Swindon, big games against Coventry and Blackpool, this is going to be a hell of a year for us.

As for visiting fans, I hope you really enjoy your away trips to Nailsworth. It's a wonderful spot up on the hill in a gorgeous area and a nice little ground. We're a welcoming bunch and hope it's a nice day out. With regards to the food all I can say is give the falafal burger a try before complaining bitterly, I'm a complete carnivore and its actually pretty good, certainly better quality than some of the "meat" burgers ive had elsewhere. The local beers are nice too!

So wow, league 2. This should be fun

 

It's one away trip I quite fancy going to next season.
Won't be trying the vegan stuff though-I'll be looking for a proper hotdog or burger somewhere else in Nailsworth.

Walkers Chip Shop's pretty good for a burger or battered sausage and chips down at the bottom of the hill. Nothing at the top of the hill except our vegan scran im afraid.

 

I've been following their results for a few years and hoping they'd get promoted - for the reason that the chairman is a passionate veggie.
Feel for Tranmere and especially HMHB but congrats Forest Green!

I bet the neighbours on that pleasant little housing estate next door are absolutely delighted about the fact there'll be league football every other Saturday, with a few big followings from Coventry and Swindon etc showing up

Yes, it's very nice to visit.

I'd just worry what the proposed new stadium will do to the club.

Good on them, will be interesting to see how they get on.

 

New stadium looks stunning, a sensible size (5000 capacity with room to extend to 12000) and a good location.
It's a real shame to be moving out of Forest Green itself, but the place is small and on the side of a hill. The only flat ground is where our current stadium is sat and while the stadium is good, the access is poor. As attendances climb and climb the traffic will only become more of a problem for both fans and residents. When i started watching FGR we were getting gates of 8/900, now our average is pushing 1800 and peaking at 3500, next season the average will surely top 2000 and we're expecting sell outs for cheltenham and swindon games. These crowds will completely foul up nailsworth after the match, even with a park and ride in place.

As long as a matchday bus service is put in place from Nailsworth to the new ground (just outside stroud by the m5, so about 15 mins drive from the old ground) then I think the move can only be a good thing for the club. And that stadium looks utterly stunning...

 

I doubt it, although you might not be too far off. Our attendances have grown a lot in recent years.
We had around 3000 home fans at our playoff semi final v Daganham. I'd be hoping we get around the same for a huge local derby.
Assuming you guys would fill the rest of the ground, so around 2000 of you.
Would make for an awesome atmosphere!

 

The only way Swindon won't outnumber FGR fans is if the club comes up with it's laughable quiz to stop fans getting in the home end (a lá when we played there last year).

They should just be grateful that Portsmouth and Plymouth have gone up because watching them manage their fans would have been absolutely laughable.
