Anytime he’s come in he’s done a job, he’s a nightmare for defences too. Scored some very important goals. I’m starting to see why Klopp has kept him. I was made up for him last night. Him and Robertson have been outstanding for us this season, they’ve been a pleasure to watch. Trent has a great game last night, made Alba look like shit, which is no easy feat. He’s a local lad too so you can see what it meant to him. Yeah that corner was ace ha. He’s a peach of a cross on him too. We do have a special team, hopefully we win something to cap the season off.
Ajax. As Machida said it would be easier to take if we lose but I also think the way they play suits us better.
@Leivapool . it was, it ****ing was . Another magical european night at Anfield. I remember the 4-3 (after 0-2 and 1-3 behind) in the Europa League 2016 against Dortmund (btw: Origi scored here too, for the 1-2). But that was "only" Europa League and "only" a Bundesliga team, but yesterday it was Champions League against "Messilona". And this without Salah and Firmino. But maybe that was even one key for success. Never surrender! edit: And now, "only" one match to play for the ultimate trophy. Kloppo can't lose another final, can he?
As a neutral I hope it's Ajax. Nothing against Spurs but you want to see an English team versus a foreign team in the Champions League final. Also the way both Ajax and Liverpool have played this season it almost guarantees a goalfest. Imagine Suarez sitting at home watching his two former teams battling it out in the final. Unlucky mate
Yeah Ajax v Liverpool is a mouthwatering prospect. Liverpool extremely good at attacking, Ajax play some wonderful football. Spurs is f*cking boring.
With the team we've got now i'd have fancied us against Madrid last year but last season we didn't have a good keeper, were a bit dodgy at the back (two things went hand in hand a bit) and we didn't have a holding midfield player (Fabinho was immense last night). We weren't ready last season. Same with the Europa final with the likes of Moreno in the side. It was all about the front three last season, we are a real team now. Last season we overachieved getting to the final, whereas for me we're probably the second best team in Europe after Man City, certainly this season. When it comes to the final we just have to hope things go for us. These games are decided on fine margins and incidents. You can see the hunger and determination in this team to win something.
I'm not too bothered who we play tbh. It's about what we do on the night and Ajax/Spurs will think the same. All 3 are fairly young teams without an experience of a big trophy (Ajax have had success domestically though), so I don't think there's a big difference. Madrid's know how was a key factor last year.
The final is set up nicely whoever gets there to be fair. If Ajax or Spurs win then that is an amazing story and in a time when money is king it gives hope to many clubs. And not many would begrudge a Liverpool victory after last night and the season they've had.
We certainly know them better and have proven we can beat them but a CL final is very different. But I think Ajax would be more open which suits us. Either way I’m not fussed, but it would be harder to take losing to an English team, if we lose.
