Quite a sore head here! Some of those performances last night, just amazing. Fabinho has been an incredible signing. And what a player Trent is. To do that without Salah & Firmino, just magnificent. Like how do you explain that? Incredible. What a team. It's mad, the capacity for Liverpool to repeatedly do things like this on those European nights at Anfield. People can surely see why we go on about it?! After being at that Dortmund game watching on when Lovren powered that header in I didn't think I'd ever see circumstance that could match or beat it, certainly not for a while. It's been some three years since then! Last night was just magical. Jurgen Klopp has moulded this team into the machine it is, this team doesn't know it's beaten. Done a job on us supporters too.
Absolutely. And I really hope that this year he'll get finally the deserved reward, the win of a Champions League final. Jürgen is already a cult figure here in Germany and most want to see him doing good in a foreign team, too. We like him. btw: Question: If he really wins the CL trophy with Liverpool, would that be the first trophy that a German coach wins with an english team?
Plus point - LFC fans finally being positive and not wallowing in self pity and negativity. Minus point - happy scousers.
You can see how much European teams fear coming here. It's got that fear factor back. In Rodgers last season Real turned up and wiped the floor with us and we couldn't beat Basle to go through from the group. Or Crystal Palace playing us off the park in Gerrard's last game. Needing penalties to beat Carlisle. Klopp has turned Anfield into a real fortress again after the aura had gone a bit.
Yeah it wouldn't feel as much like a European Cup final vs Spurs as they're English, also Liverpool vs Ajax sounds like it's straight out of the olden days of the competition. 2 clubs steeped in European Cup history. Tbf to Spurs they deserved a draw at Anfield & could have won that game near the end, dominating most of the 2nd half. They're much better than they've shown in the league in recent months & they'd be bloody tough opponents. Yeah it would be a special achievement from either club, bit better for Ajax resources wise. But evened out by it being the greatest match in Spurs history if they won, & the biggest match in their history just making the final.
I could watch that corner on repeat all night, what quick thinking by the lad. As some else said, Trent came of age last night, incredible talent who will get better and better.
I'd prefer Ajax in the final, just think they'd suit us better similar to Barcelona, Spurs gave us a tough battle last time and I just feel they'd know how to play against us better than Ajax.
