That's why they'll win it, they know it's now or never.

That lack of investment obviously telling, squad's been run into the ground combined with big injuries. Need to conjure something up from seemingly out of nowhere.

Not easy to admit and would have sounded mad at the start of the season but this Ajax side is better than us. Maybe when we're full strength and playing with confidence but not right now. They are here and leading 2-0 on merit, very exciting team that's so much more fluent going forward and has some special talents in it.

Ajax had 3, 2 legged games to make the group let alone knockouts afterwards.

Has to be a record if they make the final surely?

Bayern and Benfica in their group
Juve and Real in the knockouts

    This Ajax team is something

Yeah I agree, it should be Champions only like it used to be when I was a kid. And ultimately where the name Champions League came from. But that's not the format, hasn't been for years (1996 might have been the last time?) and never will be again.

This just 'feels' like a proper final. Traditional European giants with a rich history in the competition and two clubs from different countries. Liverpool v Spurs just wouldn't have felt right.

Absolutely shit half. They look done, can’t run 2 yards. Wanyama strolling around like it’s a ****ing friendly, what a joke. We need massive investment in the summer if we want to get near the top anytime soon.

Rolling back the years! Much more interesting than the standard Barca/Real/Atletico/Bayern combinations.

City-Ajax would have been a better semi, would have been a cracker that. City must be kicking themselves a bit having beat Spurs twice in the league. Spurs have been pretty poor in 2019.

Bayern topped the group and would have beaten them on away goals over two legs, didn't get us anywhere granted.

Agreed, we knew we were in trouble with our midfield before the season. An unlikely partnership of Winks and Sissoko turned out much better than expected and made our season better than expected but Wanyama and Dier never looked match fit, losing Dembele has been huge in big games. That loss of quality in midfield has also exposed our fullbacks much more than previous season especially Trippier.

It's gone really stale. Pretty much the same squad for 3 years now with the same manager. Squads need to evolve to keep things fresh and moving forward and there have been no major new additions for ages now. Big summer coming up.
