Yeah i didn't word it right He's still a Premier League player for at least another 4 games until Villa go down
Well, it was either that or null and void. For the majority of clubs in league 1 & 2, I would think forcing them to play behind closed doors would have killed them off ora t best put them in major debt.. Also the teams would bear no resemblance to the teams from earlier on in the season. How could you expect players to give their all or even play when some would be offered a short contract extension and then a bye, thanks for your services but we can't keep you. I'd have voided the season personally but that wasn't chosen by the clubs, ppg was.
...but...that’s exactly how football works normally. The teams with more points are above the teams with less points. You get different teams in the relegation zone during the season. So he’s stating the bleeding obviously really. What you have to remember is, not playing the rest of L1 & L2 was about the financial side of things. It will obviously still be costing the Championship clubs money to put on these games and without fan’s being able to attend you are losing your main source of income. If forced to play the games clubs would be folding left, right and centre. This way it at least gives a fighting chance. It’s like opening up your pub for business post lockdown but having zero stock. Doesn’t take a genius to work out how that’s going to end. Wigan I believe have already entered administration and I doubt they will be the last Championship club to do so - particularly those who get relegated will be absolutely ****ed and of course the fans will then moan they had to pay out the rest of season and it cost them. ...and...even without playing the games there will be plenty of L1 and L2 teams who are absolutely ****ed, not to mentioned lower down after that.
Think realistically there was never going to be a fair way to finish the season below Championship level. PPG was probably the best out of a few shite options.
Why are the EFL giving money to teams in the play offs? *”vote for the way we want and we will reward you financially”.
Because if they didn't they wouldn't have the playoffs? Then you would have to have had the 3rd place to get promoted on ppg and sky or whoever pays for the rights for the playoffs wouldn't be paying money and probably demand more money back from the EFL than it's costing to help the playoff clubs? It's purely money, or more appropriately lack of it at this level. You obviously have no idea of the precarious finances of clubs that sit in leagues 1 & 2 year in, year out. Sunderland are a big club with crowds and finances to match which find themselves in league 1. You wanted the season to continue so you could get out of this division, fair enough. But you are putting many clubs down here in risk of closure with that way forward and don't seem to care. You are wanting what's best for your club, so did Tranmere and so did every club that voted to finish the season. It's decided. There's a new season soon for you to get prompted. Maybe.
...and...if that had actually been the outcome. The football league would have lost about 30 clubs at least. A football club who wants others to go bust!
I wonder when the League One season will get going? It's surely unsustainable to play at this level with empty stadiums so we could be waiting a long while before we get to play again?
The EFL will never allow us to go up, if these new ridiculous flat rates on wages come in we will never get out of this league as we will be a cash cow, it’ll be in the owners interest to keep us in this league indefinitely presuming the crowds don’t reach very low levels
The authorities and powers that he could have facilitated it, so much money in the game. Rick Parry and his cronies are a disgrace, he’s been filmed talking about dodgy bets placed on Wigan in the Far East. I think it’s time for a serious discussion with regards to dissolving the dysfunctional EFL and creating a new body to oversee football.
Cider in the kitchen,Wycombe shirt on and my flag up in the window i'm all set, i doubt we'll go up but miracles happen and whatever happens it's been our best season in The Footbal League since we joined in 1993. Come on you CHAIRBOYS!!

What a mental challenge from the Fleetwood player there! Massively out of control, clear foul and easiest penalty decision ever with a red card too. The Wycombe player was going nowhere either. Mental rush of blood.
