I feel like we gave it our all, all be it we made some poor individual errors, but we were beaten comfortably by a far superior side in all areas. When you see some of the players being brought off the bench for their first minutes of the tournament, it's scary how far we are off that in terms of quality.

It'll be tough still. With the 48-team format, the number of European sides only increases from 13 to 16, significantly the smallest relative increase of all the federations.

We're capable of being in the top 16 sides in UEFA, obviously we did it with this qualifying campaign, and in Euro 2020 and Euro 2016, but it'll still be a big challenge for us.

    Marcus ****ing Rashford

Good performance but Wales offered very little. Topped the group, that'll do.

    We were utterly w*nk tonight.

Did nothing upfront so no moaning about how we were robbed blah blah.

The better team ( much better ) won.

Bale and Ramsey can f#ck off now as they did not do anything in the one that mattered.

Was always a big ask playing a team that is up there when it comes to having a chance of winning something. Just pissed off that we never gave it a go.

No hard feelings from me as we were second best from the first whistle.

Why cant we just go out and play like we did in the 2nd half from the start? If we play like we did the first half against the likes of Spain/ France / Brazil we'll be 2-0 down before Southgate takes the leashes off.

I can't say I'm too optimistic for Sunday tbh, hope I'm wrong.

Bale is a hindrance more than a help at this point. He scored pen game one but what had he actually done in open play the rest of the time? He'll play every minute of every game regardless though

Good win, but my God I am never watching an England World Cup game at home with my two-year-old again.

    Pub already booked for Sunday.

    Unlucky Wales.

Oh come on... I know England never play as well as they could, given the players at their disposal, but it's Senegal; really should be beating them comfortably.

Where's that video of the Wales players celebrating our loss to Iceland as if it was the best thing they ever achieved?

    What's the consensus on Page?

Wales were poor tonight. They kept it tight in the first half, but at the expense of ever looking like they would score. Not sure who they have coming through up front. The first two games gave them far to much to do anyway.

No, we got to the semi-finals. Just a bit of fun like. Strange hearing Shearer triggered by that years later. Blame Gary Neville if a bit of banter is not your thing.

Beaten comfortably by a superior team tonight. We go again.

Oh dear Wales. Maybe next time focus on trying to do well yourselves rather than trying to knock us out.

I said players. I have no hard feelings to Wales fans who have shown nothing but class over the last few years.

Just great to see Ramsay and Co get their comeuppance.

It was explained that this was mainly in response to Gary Neville’s half-pitch pile-on goal celebration in our qualifying game. Whilst giving it the biggun to Wales bench players on his way back. As well as Iceland being popular underdogs at Euro 2016.
