Be happy with either as it's a problem position with no backup for Roca and Adams if playing a 2.. If we get a CM then in reality it's better than i expected from the window and shows the owners don't want to do what we did last year. Re Harrison, i'd be disappointed to see him go, but anything over £25m i'd say is a good piece of business from us. In reality we're stacked with wide options on either side. His preferred side on the left has Gnonto and Sinisterra in front of him now. Expect to see Gelhardt go out on loan and get some game time, which should be good for his development.
Oh wow. Everton had done all the media stuff with Danjuma, had him in the shirt etc. then he disappeared and signed for Spurs Brutal.
Usually a great shot stopper but that's balanced out by the fact he's just way too prone to calamities. Wouldn't really want to be starting him in a Premier League side, but not the worst back-up option. Palace seem to have a significant interest in him too.
I really like Ox, he's a great character, and if it weren't for his huge knee injury and subsequent muscular issues he'd have been far more successful. Can't say he's what we need now on the pitch though. Still though, he does offer a goal threat from deeper more than any of our other midfielders... Everyone at the club loves him and he'll still do whatever job he's asked. Can't see us being willing to let him go for a free this window as it seems unlikely we're bringing anyone in, but he'll be off in the summer, maybe we'll want to save 6 months of wages. The last lad with a reputation for injuries you took off us has seemed to do well!
Think we've been tracking him for the past year or so. Certainly matches the profile of our recent signings. Any good? Can't see us spending a big fee and we're not exactly desperate for a striker so I wouldn't be surprised to see him go elsewhere or stay where he is. His goalscoring record isn't exactly inspiring either.
Not just a striker tbf, can play on the wing too. He's so quick and strong he will inevitably cause issues for defenders, and even on days where his end product isn't quite there he's still a threat. Very good player.
Sounds a bit like Bolasie who we nicked off you for a packet of wotsits. Guessing you'd want a lot more this time. I imagine he's one of the players we see as a potential long-term replacement for Zaha.
Similar to Bolasie now you say it, yeah. Except Semenyo is consistently a threat (and you can't fault his work rate) whereas Bolasie occasionally just didn't turn up.
Wouldn’t mind taking him for six months even though he was a rat bastard a couple of weeks ago. Hilarious that they think they’d get anywhere near £40m though when every club knows they will need to sell a lot of players and get them off the wage bill in the summer. One of my favourite ever Palace players. You just never knew what he'd do next, and neither did he half the time. Brilliant to watch in our promotion season and first couple of years in the Prem. Moved to Everton and like most players who go there his career effectively ended.
He's really strong and powerful and can glide past players. His shooting used to be awful, but something clicked last year and he has been much more of threat since then. He started Professional Football quite late as he was picked up from one of our local colleges so I think he's always been a bit raw with regards to technique and decisions. That can improve over time and I think it has. I'd say £12m plus is a risk, but there is a lot of potential there and he could thrive.
We've gone from the Jackson deal falling apart this morning to having Semenyo booked in for a medical later this afternoon 9m plus addons.
