I feel 10x worse now than I did after Gateshead in the trophy semi last season. I’ve got some class memories from that. This though, this can get in the bin.
Watched second half, expected a reaction from Barnet but don’t even remember them testing the Moors keeper. What a time to put in a performance like that, that’s the brutality of the play offs. Solihull such a horrible team to play but properly did a job today. Game might have changed had that stonewaller of a pen been given. Saw someone further up say Barnet will do a Wood - no chance, you’ll be right up there again next season, assuming you can keep the core of the squad?
I don't think we'll be bad enough to do a Wood but this feels like the end of an era. It's a long way back from that. There's going out with some fight, like we did last year, but that was embarrassing.
Brennan has huge tactical flaws but what he is a step ahead with is his recruitment. I am confident he will bring in players as good or better than those we lose or let go. The issue is the tactics. Too many times this season we have been utterly pissed on. Sometimes our quality has been too much (see Dorking away) or quite lucky (Southend x2) but we get ruined about once a month. Oldham, Rochdale, Gateshead at home, now this game.
Can absolutely relate mate - we’re in the exact same boat with Widdrington, a superb recruiter but definitely flawed when it comes to tactics and management - likewise had some incredible days but some abysmal ones, and think when you came to our place was probably one of those nights for you, you were shocking. Horrible way to lose but you’ll definitely be up there again next season
We spend too much time giving the ball to Kanu, who after trying to showboat, has no end product. We are one dimensional with no alternative plan. P.S. Fair play Solihull. You did what you had to do with little resistance from us.
And that is how not to approach a play-off match.. I don’t understand why we didn’t alter the way we played. Solihull were too comfortable in their shape and we played in front of them. Against the weaker teams in this league we usually create enough to win a match playing in this style but Solihull were not there to hand out presents. Gotta say I’m team Alty from now on in.
I knew we would lose. Won £121, on a 4 nil defeat. Any Barnet knows we are shit in playoffs. Saved our worse performance for today. Congratulations 2 Solihulls fan at the game. Beaten by a better side. No complaints. Looking forward to visiting the 85% in Ruislip again....dreamy!
Think I read an article about a recruitment/data analysis young lad you have? You’ve made some class signings to be fair. Losing Stokes and probably Tolaj will be tough to replace but you’ll no doubt have target lined up for many months. Yes I’d forgotten our game at yours! Rode our luck to keep it respectable, you swarmed all over us all game. Was worried about you for the playoffs after that (think I had other teams to worry about…!)

Dangerous team with a good manager. Unsure on the status of their players and contracts for next season but wouldn’t mind them out of here if we can look at them improving. I’m also sick of the sight of Osbourne. Poor league 2. Losing forest greens ground and replacing it with Solihull
Yeah definitely - i meant horrible from the perspective of them being really tough to break down, really organised but also dangerous going forwards - the exact sort of team you don’t want in the play offs.
Stupid gamble on a big time player, his back is ****ed but how the hell the left him on the whole game. 2 full backs on the bench - get to **** We are big game bottlers, 7 play offs & ZERO finals. Hey at least we won the conference in 2005 & 2015……… We all just want a Wembley trip!
